Yes, Intamin really isn't that bad. I think TTD and KK put an unfair shadow on the company. Yes those two are downtime nightmares, but all of the other rides they have built aren't that bad. I think Maverick will be fine. I agree that WT does not have overly large amounts of downtime.

Thrills Around the Corner!
WT still experiences problems with its system. There hasn't been a time since its opened that I have gone and not seen a ladder under the launch at some point during my trips. Hopefully Intamin proves me wrong with this one.

I think exit was being sarcastic because Mavie won't use LIMs.
Can we go even a week before people start giving it cuddly names?

Is it just me or did John Hildebrandt say that Maverick was "F!*king the terrain" in his interview? I guess that's one way to describe it.
Because it should sound like a chicks name, not the name of the neighbors rat-dog.

It looks awesome. I hope I can convince my dad. I think that it will be in my top 10 but I don't think it will be #1. The 95 degree drop doesn't do it for me.

I can see the jokes now after the first breakdown.
"Time for the glue factory!"
"Maverick? More like old swayback!"

is IntaRide the same as Intamin? I dont think that it is. Does that mean our assumptions were wrong?

This ride looks great....I wish Screamscape and others wouldn't have spoiled it. Maybe we'll get a wild west gunfight/musical show in the saloon. haha
"Show me a 450 in skee ball and I'll show you a wasted childhood."
Does Maverick give the park the title of most coasters with names starting with the letter M?
...and enjoy the rest of your day at Cedar Point, The Am-aaaa-zement park!
I just hope that they'll play that music they're playing on the site in the station! :)
EDIT: That was a nice story that you did with Fox 8, Jeff.

The one thing that I don't like about this ride is the small capacity. The 1200 rider capacity is the same as WT and is only better than Wildcat. The thing is that unlike WT, this ride is a complete circuit and could easily have increased the capacity to something similar to MF's 1600 riders per hour.
Besides the lack of capacity and the fact that we will have to wait in big slow lines to ride this, I am really happy with Maverick. It looks fun and the inversions look smooth and not painful ala Corkscrew.
Earlier in this thread someone said that by giving the ride a 48" height restriction, made it a family ride compairable to WWL. MF has a 48" ride requirement but that doesn't make IT a family ride. I doubt that a family that wanted to ride WWL will want to ride a 70mph, 3 inversion coaster.
Now I can proudly chant "We're No. 16!" Thank you Cubs for allowing me to live my dream.
Are you kidding me? Since when is anything over 1,000 "small" capacity? You can bet Dragster has never hit 1,200. There's nothing slow about a 1,200 pph ride queue.
