I took my Dad there a month ago and it was his first time there too and he also hates coasters but had a great time. I'm just saying that the CBS Evening News did a bad job of showcasing CP. I understand that that's not what they were trying to do but I just expected more I guess. Just dissapointed that they didn't show and say why CP is so GREAT. TTD- MF- Mag- Wt. At least they made the news but it would've been great to see the first drop on MF....

If anything it hurt CP. They said everything was too wild and too fast and all. That might make the GP not too "get up and at 'em."
That's exactly what I thought. Horrible job by CBS.

Imagine your favorite tv show. You've been through it all. The ups, the downs, the crazy coincidences and then bang! They tell you what it's all about. Would you be happy? Does it make sense? How come it all ended in a church? - Joker
^In my opinion it is the best.
Here's a link to the video for those who missed it:

That article is absolutely pathetic. If they don't like coasters, then don't send them there if that's all they could possibly do to the best of their abilities! Okay, so these old geezers don't like coasters. That's not all CP has to offer. Besides, if you aren't willing to do anything, don't go! It's that simple.
Pathetic. Attrocious. What other abysmal words could be used to sum this up? Cuz I know there are many, many, many out there.
I was not happy with this either. Almost seemed like a deliberate slam with the dislike of coasters comments. Why did they even bother? Maybe I'm reading between the lines too much? OK CP won, so now let's give them what they really deserve... and minutes before was a huge story about the "faithful" at a ball diamond!!! What could be more faithful than shooting to the heavens on TTD! :) Hey, enjoy!
I can't get the video to work (I assume its real player) but it sounds like some of you were expecting a show such as the travel channel. It was a small news story. And Walt is right, I'm sure a lot of peoples memories of the park with their parents/kids has nothing to do with riding roller coasters.
As far as showcasing CP goes, it was pretty awful. But it was a news feature about the reporter and his father, not an advertisement for the park, and from that aspect I think it was alright. Of course CBS News isn't going to put some 80 year old guy who is afraid of coasters on Millennium Force, and you're crazy if you think they should have. In that reguard, Iron Dragon was the perfect ride to get the job done. The story did what it was intended to do, which is show the father-son having "quality time" together, not talk about how CP has the best, fastest, tallest, etc.
