NEW YEAR NEW 2015 CEDAR POINT CREW

If a manager reviews your application and contacts you, it's a good thing. If they review it and don't contact you, it's not a good thing. None of us are gonna know whether a manager simply reviewing your application is a good thing or not.

Since your interview was today just give it a few days to see if they contact you back with a job offer . If that doesn't work out , keep trying. Even though you might not have struck gold on that interview , there's still plenty of time . There's plenty of departments , so don't let anyone tell you that you can't do this. If you are interviewed again though , make sure its not only 7 minutes ! Put well educated and thoughtful answers to their questions. Show them what you have to offer Cedar Point and You'll be hired in no time! Goodluck john!

It's like you're not even listening.

This brings up one of my favorite quotes.

I know I said I was out, but I'm not.

I wish john pratt would get a job there, because I'd like to go by and see for myself what this is really all about.

I have the same feeling as others here that after a seven minute interview (well, 7:32) that his application is in the circular file. And I also feel that subsequent "reviews" by hiring managers are folks clicking on a list, seeing comments that don't qualify as a recommendation, and moving along.

coolguy19 very, very kindly points out that it's early yet, there are plenty of opportunities, etc. and that may be true. Once the season opens there is a natural attrition that happens, and believe it or not, quite a few firings happen the very first week. Plus, some employees realize the place is not for them and quit. So it's possible that later on, applications that were previously not considered rise to the top. Some employees mark their first day somewhere around mid season. And we've all encountered workers at CP and wondered how the hell they got a job anyway.

But, if I were john pratt I'd be looking to see if there's a McDonalds or something nearby.

I feel it is in File 13 as well.

I can relate to a shorter interview that I gave to a candidate for a positional/promotional change. It lasted 3 minutes, we never asked an interview question.

Said candidate stopped myself and the other hiring managers, while we are at lunch no less. We were asked to assist on prepping the candidate for the interview. Our response was we were at lunch and did not have time.

An hour and a half later the candidate arrives for the interview. This candidate arrives not wearing a tie (current guidelines mandate a tie). The candidate sits in the chair slouched down as low they can get.

We ask if the candidate has something for us. The response was like what? My partner states do you have copies of your resume and a cover letter? The candidate then explains, we should already have that as it was submitted with their Expression of Interest. I look at my partner and she looked as confused as I am.

I stopped the interview, explained to the candidate they are out of compliance on appearance, are clearly not prepared for the interview, is not competitive for the position, and bid them a good day.

Additionally we followed up with the candidates Leader to provide feedback on the interview. The Leader was embarrassed and apologized for his direct report's behavior.

If you are referring to my post it was not directed at you. I was agreeing with RCMAC and providing an anecdote of my experience as a hiring manager.

Please, just give it a rest. They said they would get back to you; give them a chance to do so. The only contact you should have within the first few days of an interview is to send a follow-up interview thanking the interviewer for taking the time to interview you. That's it.

Who beside me is wondering how it lasted even 7:32?

Practice what you preach. When you come in here expecting to say what you want as often as you'd like then you should allow and expect others to do the same.

I wish I could see who this John Pratt is, it appears his posts have been deleted. This thread is entertaining none the less. Now I'm curious of this 7 minute interview. Mine was just over a half hour. Oh my.

I think that John Pratt might have been scared off by some of the post that have been posted. That is probably why he deleted them. Even when he was just asking about something like how long does it take to go from job choice one to job choice two and job choice three. Why would the managers care by him asking questions like that? it is not like he is saying anything bad about Cedar Point. Like me, one day I had called Cedar Point to ask about an email and I get yelled at and hung the phone up on me. I just thought that person had a bad day.

How can I extend my availability date to work at Cedar Point? I originally put it down that I was available to work from May 9, 2015 to August 28, 2015. How can I improve my application?

Screamster,

  1. He scared himself off. He would ask for, then not heed or like said advice.
  2. He changed his job choice preference's and then blamed CP for "messing it up". Initially he had an interview for food and beverage and advised the manager, during the interview, he would rather work in guest accommodations or rides. He could not see how wasting the managers time would affect his hiring prospects.
  3. He argued that spelling and grammar were not important on an application.
  4. He called, constantly even after having been advised to not call and be patient.
  5. He called a manager out by name on this board for being rude.

Do a search for his name and see the threads created and deleted by Mr. Pratt.

This thread is still active. It may give you some insight into his thought process.

Last edited by Lash,

I looked at that thread and I didn't see any of his posts.

^It appears that his posts have been deleted, and the only remnants are people quoting what he's said, and mentioning him.

They're not really deleted. We can still read them. The Internet never forgets. :)

Then why I can't see any of his posts?

Because Jeff is an admin and can probably still see them. It might just show a message indicating that it was deleted, but the post may still be visible to admins.
