NEW YEAR NEW 2015 CEDAR POINT CREW

I want to know what everyone expects to get out of this 2015 year at cedar point. I have only recently applied and I have so many things running through my head right now. I am always looking for new friends as well as looking to learn new things this year. Can anyone tell me what they think will happen this year with so many changes and updates. I honestly have not worked at cedar point since 2009 and I know I have missed out on so much. Have the apartments changed at all? What is something to look forward to other than making new friends and working?

I just hope that everyone gets along better than last year. I hate drama and stupid childishness

Becky - you might as well hope it never rains and is always sunny and 72 degrees. You have a better chance of that happening than changing human nature.

Can't wait to be working I'm super pumped - though I have not heard anything back from human resources or anyone... :-(

aw, jeez.

Buddy, you've taken up a whole lot of space here ruminating about this job you want. It's a one-sided conversation with yourself, and you couldn't sound more desperate.

Seriously, if you haven't noticed, no one here can help you. I've noticed the Employee Lounge is usually fraught with two types, those that have a job and are nervous or excited about it and those that wish they did and are nervous or excited about it. I usually enjoy reading everything here, but this Employee Lounge noise is wearing me out. You've clogged up two threads now with worry about your application and where you might stand in the process, but please understand that this forum is not a pipeline to employment at Cedar Point. That's what 'aw, jeez' means.

I don't know who you are or anything about you, but I'd imagine you're very young and this may be your first attempt at a job. Some kindly advice for now and the future: make your application, interview when they schedule you, put your best foot forward while you have the chance then hope for the best. That's all anyone can ever do. I can assure you that pestering the kind folks here will get you nowhere, and pestering your potential employer will get you less than that.

They already have your info and know who you are. So just chill, and keep your options open for the summer.

aw, jeez.

Alrighty then.
Well, ya can't say I didn't try, folks. I'm out.

Good luck to you, john pratt. Here, and there.

John, just some friendly advice. When using the quote function, please put your comments underneath the /quote tag generated by the site that serves to wrap the comments your are quoting. Otherwise, your comments become part of the quoted text as happened in your post quoting RCMAC.

More to the point, don't quote the previous post.

Best of luck, John.

John Pratt , how was it only 7 minutes ? That's really short mine was 30 minutes.

John, that is not a good thing. I was a hiring manager and I used the same phrase when I didn't think someone was going to work out. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for summer employment. It is still early. Perhaps another park if you are set on working at an amusement park.

Last edited by Bluestreaker,

You should wait a few days to see what they say. When I was a hiring manager, I said that to everyone, because I never hired someone DURING an interview. I find it much more professional to contact someone after the fact and provide a job offer.

I agree with Bluestreaker, it's probably best to start looking elsewhere. I know you've had several interviews with different departments. I'm pretty sure that anyone who views your application can see the interview notes from other departments. I think it's best to move on. They could still call you, but you should open up your options to other places. Pestering them won't do you any favors.

No, you shouldn't. The guy who interviewed you likely makes notes in the candidate database, and every hiring manager sees that. If he decided you weren't CP material, other managers, who collectively have to hire thousands of people, are going to take his word for it.

Look, I'm not trying to be negative or discourage you, but persistence isn't what you need to get a job. You need to demonstrate that you have something to offer that's better than everyone else. Mostly what you've done is act as the loudest voice, which is not what anyone is looking for.
