Adam, I was there today and you could not go any further down perimiter road than the marina / famous daves. From that distace it was hard to tell if MF got a paint job, but it did look like it had a bit more gloss to it in the sunshine!

It was great to back down by the park again even though I couldnt get in. Stupid gates!

I don't see a merch stand in the middle of the entrance plaza anymore! :)

I'm really digging the pavers for the entrance plaza, though I hope they also do some kind of colored stone pattern like with Wicked Twister. Also with the pavers, hope the fountain area will tie the brick pavers over to the other side of the midway as well.

on Friday they weren't blocking the Perimeter Road, the supports on the first overbank looked like they stripped some of the paint, also the track didn't look so faded but didn't look like it had a fresh coat of paint

What do you mean? They have already set them in place in the concrete. Now all they have to do is slide the actual pole onto its support. That takes all of 5 seconds.

I'm diggin' the Blue Streak paint job, it looks fantastic.

I've seen markings very similar to these when installing banner poles. By that I mean the boxes have an x/+ with the centerpoint being where they drill the hole for the pole. Also the marking appear to be set up in order and in relative distance from each other. So considering that and the fact that they mentioned new banners, I figured these were the new banners they were talking about.

And I hope the area where the former souvenir stand stood is replaced by a nice, large round CP logo. But that's just me.:)

Those could be the banners they mentioned. But if not, the boxes you mentioned could be for more. If thats the case, then it still would only take the Laborers a half a day to install the support poles for the banners.

What's going to be on the middle of that this year? Last year we had planet snoopy. I'm guessing maybe Magnum's 20th Birthday will be on there.

It'll most likely be a mix of Magnum and regular(new) CP banners.^^Yeah, of course it could be for something else. I just put 2 and 2 together(Dumb & Dumber reference)and came up with my guess. And I was joking about the whole where I work thing. That kind of job can be done in a day. I'm positive they're on it like white on rice.

We're probably not making it to the point this year until Halloweekends, so I am relying on all of you to post some wonderful pictures of all the new touches. :)

Somehow I missed that CP is making a new entrance plaza. Is this including the entire entrance to the park from the season pass center on in?), or just a portion?

It's pretty much the whole area bewtween the admission area and the turnstiles that has been torn up. It also looks as if there will be a few new spots for banners. T&T put a new blog up this afternoon showing the progress. The pavers are actually a really nice addition, now if we could just get rid of the rest of the blacktop down the entire Gemini midway we'd be golden.

I like the new fountain too, just that a renovation was long overdue to the entrance.

I didn't see how many pavers there were when I went. That's sure going to look nice when it's done!

That looks cool. I wondered why they were tearing that area up. Now I know. I'm anxious to see the new fountain. As always if you see me on the midway, I'll have my camera ready. :)
