Effective 6/3/05, Intamin has granted permission for riders to ride with only a half an inch of slack instead of a full inch. Just wondering what everyone's opinions are, as I am sure this will help some of you out...

Indeed, it will help both queueing times and rider satisfaction. Thanks for the heads-up. (Personally, I have about 1 1/2 inches of slack anyways. :))
That's good to know since my co-workers and I are going to the Point this weekend. :)

Whoa! Are you serious?!? Where can I read this? This is great, I was so worried that I may not be able to ride MF this year (fit the test seat last year in August, but thunderstorms closed it before I could get on), and I have grown in both directions. This is great news!
Yes this is great news, for people that are a tight fit
Quote from a Corkscrew ride op, "And Dragster is down again"
Instead of needing to pull 1 inch of slack on the seat belts, you only need to pull 1/2 an inch. That means more people can fit, and fewer will be struggling to get the extra and/or arguing with the ride ops.
Are you sure this isn't the Atlantic Ocean?
GO TIGERS!
Someone told me this yesterday, but I was skeptical. If it is true, that's very good news.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
It doesn't eliminate the problem, but diffently a step up; Thank God. :)

One question. Why does CP have to inforce intamin's policys? Just wondering why and also what happens if they dont?

101 on Magnum and counting...
I just got off the phone with a Jen at CP and she told me that Intamin never gave the ok to go ahead with the 1/2 slack. It hasn't been change!!! What a crock!!!
This could be the answer to the incoming summer crowds. Hopefully this is true and the capacity shoots up quite a bit. No offense or anything, MF Man, but I hope you are incorrect;)

Under state law they must follow the manufacture's recommendations.

Dragster- 36 and ONE ROLLBACK
I hope I was to, but I did call and it was not true. Trust me, I was pretty happy to see 1/2 inch but like that old saying goes, "Sounds to good to be true."
Where's the proof? Has there been some announcement from the higher ups at CP? Until then, I'd shy against beleiving this.

Last TTD train of the night (6-23/24).
That is true, effective 6/3 you only have to pull 1/2 an inch to ride Millennium Force. I was soo happy when my sup told me the night before. Now, Dragster is still 1 inch, maybe that is what you were thinking about.
I honestly asked Jen (she is a higher up) about the slack on both MF and TTD. She said Intamin never gave permission to change it. I wish she said differant but she didn't. :(
I can take a picture of the new sign if you want me to on Monday if you still don't believe me. Trust me, it's a half inch of MF now, but still an inch on Dragster. In the few days since the rule change it has seemed like the line has been moving a bit faster...

I would imagine that with half an inch being small enough, they're pretty much at a point where if you can get any black to show on the belt you'll be good to go. Don't take that as fact though.
