MrScott is full of crap. Of course there's a green train.

Actuall there was a green train. I rode on it the first season. But the second day it was open it flew off the track acond the last turn and bounced off the laser show screen and went in to the bay. Geez, get you facts right.

Everyone knows that the green train was lost in the bay during preseason testing. CP decided that eating the price of that train was better than the negative media attention associated with the retrieval.

At least I now know where that crap smell has been coming from.

Mayor, Lighthouse Point

The lore of the green train is when the blue train and the yellow train collided, thus mixing the two colors and forming the 72 car megagreentrain.....ok , did the first part actually happen or did I make that up all by myself....haha

"Show me a 450 in skee ball and I'll show you a wasted childhood."

How come this was never in the news? If it fell into Sandusky bay, don't you think they would have a crane to pick it ou? I mean they won't leave sometihng in the middle of the lake.

You're not being serious.... are you Shawn Meyer?

No I was being Sarcastic.

The green train wasnt running properly so they sent it to six flags where it fits in better.

Uh, It's in the bone yard, get your facts straight.

I bought car 9 from the green train off ebay. It's in my backyard right now.:)

Maybe MF should get the bent lap bar like TTD. It gives you more room.

Dragster- 36 and ONE ROLLBACK

This may be a dumb question? But would the new seats slow down Millennium Force at all? I was thinking this because I was like wouldn't the new seats be heavier?

They'd add weight to it, but it would probably still make a full curcuit.

It's all in the physics. *** Edited 1/17/2005 5:18:59 PM UTC by TTD 120mph***

At what point did you weigh the seats?

What do you mean?

How do you know that any replacement seats would weigh more? What's your evidence?

Besides, adding more weight would ensure that it makes a full circuit, otherwise, why would they put the water dummies in on cold mornings? More weight would increase the total potential energy of a train. It takes X amount of potential energy to make it all the way around the track. As long as the starting PE is above that amount the train will make it around. UNLESS an excessive amount of energy is lost somewhere due to wind resistance or friction, although I would guess friction (between the wheels and the track) stays pretty constant, or goes down as the wheels/bearings warm up.

Anyway, back on track. Heavier trains wouldn't cause any problems with rollbacks or trains not making it around the course. I'm not sure that they would cause any increase in speed, I'm not remembering my physics equations all that well today.

I just guessed that since the new seats would be different from the old ones they would have somesort of an impact on the trains weight. I'm sure that the difference would be small probably not even affecting the speed.
I knew that(even if there was a difference)an increase in speed wouldn't cause problems for the trains. When I said "probably" I was refering to factors such as the density, width and overall size of the new seats that could affect opposing factors like wind friction causing the train to slow down a small fraction more than it would normally.

So to answer Shawn Meyer's question: IF the new seats are heavier, then they will have some sort of an effect on the train. In short Yes, no and maybe.

But we can trust Cedar Point to know what they're doing and that they have considered any possible problems........that is if this rumor is true.

What difference does it make? Bryan Edwards apparently said at the ACE No Coaster Con last weekend that there would be no changes.
