New Seats

I love the look of LaQua. It's so cool how it goes over, around and through the building. I doubt there could be anything like that built in the US outside of Las Vegas.

Well maybe between Intamin and Cedar Point, the two could come up with at totally different seat where it's just slightly deeper and still has that stadium look to it. My question is how do they test the new seats out if the trains are off the track? How can people test out the seats?

What do you mean? They would have to be put back on the track eventually..

-Evan Hendrick

They make all the calculations before they even make the trains, so tests can be done once it's on the ride and won't be that dangerous.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

So my thought then is they probably wont make any changes until a month before the park opens then. That way they don't have to put the trains on before they have to.

If they make any changes, they'll probably be done when the trains are taken in for their winter overhaul.

Shawn, are you trying to be the resident Yogi? "That way they don't have to put the trains on before they have to" That is just classic

What are the headrests like now on Millennium Force? Are they like car seating? I know it has the stadium seating, but what are the headrests like?

Not sure how to describe it, but that's what they look like.

No I'm just a little slow sometimes.

Sometimes?

I think it's both a good and bad idea. Good in that it would give the trains a cooler look, but bad in that you wouldn't have the level of freedom of view that we have already when riding MF. With Dragsters headrests, I can hardly see anything in front of me sitting on the 2nd-9th rows even though every row of seats are set-up differently to allow everybody riding a good view.

And it's not just because I'm short.>:( *** Edited 12/27/2004 1:32:29 AM UTC by TTD 120mph***

Why does everyone assume that because it will be dragster style seats, that it will also include dragster style head rests? They can make the seats deeper and change the T-bar without including a headrest in the design. They aren't going to go grab seats from the KK/TTD assembly line and ship them as MF seats, they'll do a redesign and make the dimensional changes. The new design, hopefully, will be similar to TTD in terms of depth/angle, but minus any obstructing headrest.

Does anyone think they'll change the lapbar configuration too? I mean that seems like major work considering the trains are different from Dragsters.

I was wondering...I have not heard any announcement that MF is getting new seats. Is this thread wishful thinking or do we know for sure there will be new seats installed?

I doubt we will know what has been done (if anything) untill opening day.

It's all wishfull thinking at this point.

Why does everyone assume that because it will be dragster style seats, that it will also include dragster style head rests? Why assume anything? ;)

Because it's the offseason and there's nothing to talk about in CP terms that is. ;)

So, what you're saying is that people may show up on opening day only to find out nothing's changed on MF? I think people need to be prepared for that outcome.

That's exactly what I'm saying. And if they do change something, I doubt that they would "announce" it. What purpose would that serve?

Well for starters the announcement could entice the scores of people who were turned away from riding MF back to the park for another try at the new "slightly more accomodating" seats. It would also show that they at least tried to remedy the situation which would be a plus PR wise.
