I'm partial to the trebuchet as a means of mass transit, personally.
Somebody likes Dilbert. Anyway, that really only works with cows and pianos.
Seriously though, there is no way Cedar Point would ever build a monorail. Too long, too expensive, too many regulatory agencies to have involved. By far the cheaper and more practical option would be trams.

With all of this speculation about a Parking Garage in the main lot, then where would that leave employees to park? Because if they were too put a parking garage in, the most feasible location would be the very front of the lot, where employee's currently park.

Highly doubt that would happen, the Cedar Point bus is already unreliable and crowded as is. Besides there is already ample parking provided in the park, and that is why there are shuttle buses that are provided for people staying off point. There is only a parking problem if you get there late, if you are there at the crack of dawn there is no problem.

They can buy another bus. Unreliable? In the seasons that I was a Team Leader, I never had a crew member be late because of the bus. Not even on a parking ban day. Funny thing is, most of the people that were late were the ones that drove.
And of course there is already ample parking at the park, but you asked what woud happen if they built a garage for guests. The option to have all employee's park offpoint durring most of the summer is a valid option if they needed to do so.
I believe a parking lot ban happens when CP expects the park to very busy. I'm not sure if everyone (employees) has to park off Point or not.

Yep. Parking ban means that employees cannot park on point. They have to take the shuttle bus that runs from housing into the park.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
Let me restate that comment before I get my head chewed off. The buses can be unreliable at times. Not all the time, but a lot of the time you have to be at the bus stop up to 2 hours before your shift in order to make it to the park in time. This doesn't happen everyday, but it does happen. If they did choose to allow employees to park only off point, I am sure that they would get more buses on the circuit to make sure that there was always a bus picking up people.

I have never head of anyone ever having to wait that long. Maybe on a busy Saturday in August, but even then I have doubts. I have spent seven years at the park and worked with many people that take the bus everyday all summer long, and never have I heard of someone having to wait more then an hour at most. And that usually would come from missing the first bus. Maybe you have waited that long before, but I doubt it happens even on a monthly basis. The bus schedule was very much improved this summer when it was taken over by Park Operations. It had more runs then in the past. Since your signature only says 2006, I am guessing you wouldn’t know what the old system was like. And don’t think I am “chewing your head off”, its only my opinion. You should know that. Were all adults here, well at least some of us.
What summer did the bus service switch to park operations? I remember my first summer how crappy it was. The problem was that the bus got completely crowded and had a row of people standing in the isle. Even with this, they still had to turn a lot of people away.
I remember figuring out the bus that I needed to take to get to the park on time, and trying for the bus before that. If I got it, I'd eat breakfast at the cafe, if not, I would get on the next bus by any means necessary.
I think the biggest problem is the fact that the lines at tolls is usually longer on parking bans. This means that a given number of busses can move much fewer employees when they are needed the most.
This past summer is when it switched. The service has greatly improved because of this. More runs through out the day, actually ontime, and just an overall improvment.
Yeah I waited for 2 hours on an extremely busy August day. I am aware that I do not know what the bus system was like in previous years, and I am aware that it was reliable most of the time. When I said it was unreliable i meant that it was unreliable at times, and not all the time. I know that you are not chewing my head off, that was just my way of expressing how you conveyed your opinion to me. Now about that new parking lot speculation.

I think the Parking Lot could go a little Wider on the Right Side. They could cut the Wall off and make that. This is the Front Parking Lot.
i havent been back on lately to check what was being said, but one guy talked about removing the picnic area for a coaster. wtf! Isnt that what they should avoid doing? Removing classic parts of the park. Lets just put a large coaster straight down the midway! What park would want a beautiful stretch of land with fountains and games when you could just slap a coaster there! Then the year after we can remove the kiddie rides and the games for another ride. BTW i'm being sarcastic for those of you that cant pick up on it
I wouldn't call the picnic areas "classic parts of the park", but I do agree they shouldn't be removed for a ride.

In a day of junk food and obesity, why would we want to ever remove the picnic area. This is where families can share a meal together. Not only can parents make sure the kids have at least one healthy meal they can save quite a bit of money by packing a meal. Maybe if more parents would do this instead of just buying their children any food they want in the park, the kids wont grow up to complain about why rides arent designed more for obese people!
Besides Cedar Point was a park with only picnic tables before it was ever an amusement park.

If shelter 1 (the one right by the Demon Drop) got taken out and that whole front area revamped, you could put in a nice ride right there. This would still leave the other shelters (which are hardly used, except on the most crazy days). There's still plenty of room over there next to BS.
