Kalahari (billed as the world's largest),

If its going to be the worlds largest, then it will be freaking huge because the worlds largest as of now is the Ocean Dome in Japan.

Just order a large, Farva.

Hey i know it has been discussed last offseason, but what are Magnum's new colors going to be? I read some of the speculations, but I have no idea which one's to believe.

Magnum will be painted the same color. As to what that color is....the debate continues.

As for the color of Magnum, the track is going to be orange. There was a test spot at the base of the lift. I don't know for sure, but the supports will probably stay the same...a silver/grayish color.

By early 2005, it looks like there might be four indoor water parks in Sandusky:

Word around Sandusky is that there is a 5th waterpark in the planning stages.

5 waterparks in sandusky? Why? 4 is just too much, one or two maybe but no more!

Why is 5 too many? There are 18 water parks in the Wisconsin Dells. Sandusky already has the region's biggest tourist draw and is rapidly becoming a year-round destination. I think the water park developers are smart enough to know a good thing when they see it.

Sandusky has the advantage of being "close enough" to SE Michigan and NE Ohio for a day trip for families---two reasonable population centers. I'm not sure if the Dells are considered "close enough" for chicagoland, but they might be.

Frankly, I would be chomping at the bit to do a mid-winter night or two at Great Bear if I wasn't already planning a late February trip to the Anaheim Mouse House.

It's not war, famine, or pestilence; it's only downtime.

Why is 5 too many? I bet in ten years there will be even more than that. look at Vegas...Good thing they didn't stop after the first casino.
Speaking of Casinos, a few years back, Ohio voted on allowing gambling on Lake Erie. It obviously failed, but if it went the other way, do you think Cedar Point would build a casino? How about a 'Pleasure Island" type area, too?

Would Cedar Point build a casino if it were legal in Ohio? Is Top Thrill Dragster 420 feet tall?

The park has made no secret that they would love to have a casino if casino gambling was legal. But let's not start that debate. :)

5 Waterparks?! man Soak City is going have to boom in business to keep up (this should only effect the locals going to SC) Can't wait for Bubba Gump in 2004!

the fifth water park would have to be the radisson. they are building a indoor water park
You know, if it weren't for the fact that Sandusky seems to be a bit far from the Interstate, I would think that somethng along the lines of Prime Outlets would fit rather well in Sandusky.

When you think about it, it almost makes sense. Sandusky is a moderately sized community, which most large outlet complexes tend to prefer. You also have all the tourists coming to Cedar Point to populate the outlet stores. Heck, for some people this might be reason enough to book an extra day at one of the hotels.

Seriously. If a town as small as North Conway, NH (Which is quite enjoyable I might add) can have a whole crapload of outlet stores (Though not as much as Hagarstown, seemingly THE place for outlets on the east coast), then I don't see why Sandusky can't. And North Conway is just about as far away from an Interstate as Sandusky.

As for how this would affect Cedar Point, there's a lot of people in this world that obsess over shopping, and more people in Sandusky usually means more people in Cedar Point. And then there's those tour groups that go out of their way just to go to places like Hagarstown Outlets, that would be attracted to Sandusky, and they might end up spending time in Cedar Point as well. It would be a (Pardon the cliche) win-win situation.

Sorry for my endless expository. Just voicing my opinion on Sandusky and its seemingly endless quest to become a year-round vacation destination.

Been there, done that. The Lake Erie Factory Outlet Center opened with fanfare sometime in the late 1980's (I think) about a mile north of the Ohio Turnpike on Rt. 250. The shopping area never took off. It's still open today under new ownership and with a new name, but there's only a handful of stores there.

Not. Soak City needs only the resorts to survive.

What time does the water show start?

And, no matter how nice the indoor water parks are on a cold winter day, nothing beats being outside on a nice hot summer's day. The indoor water parks tend to be much smaller than Soak City, so I doubt they can match Soak City in attractions.

Viacom owns Paramount... I don't understand why you guys find this so hard to get. I mean, would Disney franchise one of their brands, say Micky Mouse, to a competitor? Friday's isn't owned by a competitor, and it's not connected with any other brand.

--------------

Normally, I would have thought the same thing... but it actually **DID** happen. Who Framed Roger Rabbit had Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Betty Boop and tons more....

Disney does not own Looney Toons or vice versa.... While it is true that Disney owns Touchstone (Company that made Roger Rabbit), They do not own Betty Boop or the Looney Toons. Never say never......

You are comparing 1 movie, with a plot that encompassed ALL cartoons, to a restaurant franchise that is real? Come on, you are reaching at straws.

Beer and golf Thursday thru Monday, Cedar Point & beer, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Ok, if you want to talk food.... Geauga Lake/SFO/SFWoA... They have/had the following restraunts:

Taco Bell

KFC

Pizza Hut

All were owned by PepsiCo. Geauga Lake was a Coke park. The bottom line is the all mighty colorful dollar.
