The rides in my example are BOTH dark ride AND coaster.
OK, so at best they're hybrids. :)
But you're arguing semantics. None of the rumors point to CP's supposed dark ride as being anything other than a typical dark ride - little/no elevation change, not gravity-driven, not built by CCI or PTC, won't be listed on RCDB, etc.

Not bad, I would love to see something like that!

Hopefully the redo the midway get rid of the black top, get ride of the arcade/games and re-build them, expand camp snoopy and add a restaurant with a deck overlooking the lagoons because the lagoons actuly look really nice
Maybe they could add something similar to the Bier Garten at Kings Island.
Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!

I agree. The other boardwalk layouts I've seen people put together aren't exactly plausible, but this one is good. Unfortunately, as much as I'd love to see this, there are no clues/markings indicating that a boardwalk will happen.

Instead of a wild mouse, I'd love to see something like Iron Shark...

There are no clues/makings to indicate anything will happen, which is why I think people should lower their expectations as to what will be coming next. My guess is major resort upgrades are on the way along with general park improvements. No new rides.

^I agree about lowering expectations, especially since people are discussing a boardwalk again already.
However, the resort upgrades have already been stated to be "separate" from actual park improvements and additions. That and the general announcement that improvements are on the way lends me to believe that this is not the announcement on hand.
As for general park improvements. I understand the purpose behind marketing and teasers and such, but why would they get a family together to help announce the new scenery and bathroom heading to the Gemini Midway?
I think something larger than general improvements is coming, but I don't think its that 400 foot Inverted Wooden Dive Machine that goes into the lake.
if its a family announcing it, then it could be the rumored dark ride or maybe a plant snoopy expansion like the one they added in kings dominion and kings island.
If it's a planet snoopy expansion, I could see Cedar Point adding a family size coaster maybe the size of that one coaster at Kings Island. It's like a small Inverted roller coaster and it's in the Planet snoopy area. Someone help me out here.
If they are thinking, as has been rumored, of converting an existing building into a dark ride, I think the Snoopy Boutique building would be a much better choice than the Coliseum.

i think we will see a planet snoopy expansion in 2014. i looked around and carowinds, canadas wonderland, kings island, and kings dominion all got there planet snoopy's re-done or expanded in the past 3 years. cedar points planet snoopy are geouga lakes old kiddie rides. so its cedar points turn to get there planet snoopy expanded because were cedar fairs flagship park so it would make sense if we got they new kiddie ride upgrades like other parks in the chain have.
Here's my idea, to expand planet snoopy, get ride of kiddie kingdom but keep the carousel and the kid bumper cars. Then expand planet snoopy were kiddie kingdom use to be and get ride of the 3 point shoot out to connect both sides of planet snoopy and add a family coaster like the small invet one at kings island and add all the new attractions added in kings dominoin
^^ They could make a U shape around the coliseum where Chaos used to be, and expand it into Kiddie Kingdom. That way either next year or in the near future, they could turn the coliseum into a dark ride as the centerpiece of the area.
Edit: Guess I was too slow^
That would be a really good kiddie area with a dark ride In the coliseum as the center peace hopefully this does happen because kiddie kingdoms rides are out dated then we would have all the kiddie rides they added in kings dominoin I went there this year and that is the best kiddie area I've seen I hope cedar point does this on 2014

Yeah I'm sure that's it. It makes total sense to shut a ride down early two years in a row to completely replace the track & refurbish the trains just to start all over again 18 months later.
Girl: "l want to ride that yellow one again... Twisted Wicker"
Me: "It's a roller coaster, not a broken clothes hamper."
If Mean Streak ever gets the NTG treatment, I think the track should be green. Just sayin.
I've created another boardwalk idea. This isn't likely to happen this year but it's still cool to see the ideas. The 2 green circles would be 2 spinning flat rides. I would like one of them to be a giant flying scooter ride. The other one I don't really care. The square is a small drop tower. (Demon Drop Size) This isn't really likely to happen because we have Power Tower but this would actually be freefall and probably more thrilling than PT. Windseeker would also be right there. The first coaster is a wild mouse, but it could be whatever. I just feel that would make most sense. The other coaster is a Jr. Gemini type coaster that would fit in between the 2 kiddie lands. I think this needs to happen. The restaurant would be a sit-down restaurant with outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. I feel like this might eventually happen as Matt Ouimet said the first year he was here that he wanted to use the beach more and get more people on the beach. Anyway, this is practically the same as the one I posted yesterday, just bigger and in a different location.
I really think a lot of you are in for a big letdown in 2014. Given the $ spent in 2013 at CP with. Gatekeeper, it's KI's turn (footers are already there) and there are gate area markers at Dorney that seem to indicate an entrance re-do like CP's this year. Add in a "family" will do the promo, and it pretty much locks in a family (not a massive thrill) ride. Finally, a stripe down the midway indicates something will be done to one of the busiest sections. Perhaps some sort of track for a parade (a-la-Disney).
Construction of a water fountain show is another possibility and we could see some sort of indoor project - which would explain the lack of paint markers in the park. But whatever it's going to be, I don't think it's anything that will break records or cost mega bucks!
