With regards to Adam's post, Kiddy Kingdom really could use some TLC. There's no "Kingdom"...it's just a hodge-podge of kiddie rides thrown together.
Hmmm.
As a father of two young ones, yes...this area needs love.
I'm anticipating a makeover of more than just one "space".
Promoter of fog.
Okay. Here is some food for thought.
As most of us know, the main rumor is for a dark ride (although we really have no idea) but I think I may have come close to cracking it: some type of a 3D dark ride.
Here is why I suspect this. In all the pictures, it is blurry, just like a 3D movie is without the glasses. Tony said that no layer on Photo shop could clear this up which could point to needing something else (them) to bring it to focus.
I am guessing it will be a ride like Toy Story Mania but most likely much better and more innovative as said in the conference call.
This is the best guess I have. What I am trying to say is that I don't think it has to do with what is in the image, but the meaning of the image: 3D.

Shouldn't be hard to do, since Toy Story Mania sucks. It's equal to Soarin' and Mission Space in how darn overrated it is. I like experiences that I can't replicate at home with my 3DTV and PS3, thank you very much. No need to pay hundreds of dollars and wait hours in line for that.
Seriously though, I'm not convinced that it's Cedar Point getting a dark ride next year. I'd love to be wrong though.

Just as a general thing, CP won't make any announcement about the dorms being moved or changed -- they don't announce any of that "backstage" stuff, and they do things like that every year without any of it being announced. The only reason that would be raised at all is if they plan to put an attraction in the old dorms place.
As of late they have though, they've been getting lots of press on stuff like that.
During a conference call AND the announcement of the Hotels (in which there was an article written), Mr. Ouimet specifically stated he was interested in taking the old dorms out and looking for space for employee dorms off-peninsula.
In addition, when their new "maintenance building" or whatever it was that was bought off the peninsula was purchased, there was a decent story about it.
However, if you are saying they wouldn't announce they're removing it for 2014, then of course I'd agree with you. I could just see it now- "New for 2014. Old Dorms removal so we can get ready for your 2015 enjoyment".
It seems like things are becoming a lot more transparent at Cedar Point and Cedar Fair.
As for the 2014 Project. I'm still voting Kiddy Kingdom/Beach makeover.

Call me a sucker for the overrated, because I love Soarin'. Then again, I don't have an IMAX screen and coordinated hang gliding simulator at home like you do. :)
Soarin' and Toy Story are some of my favorite Disney Rides!
The Crystal Method is the only way to find The Winner!

Agree with you 100%... I don't get the hype at ALL over these rides. I think Soarin' is downright terrible almost with how bad the video is. The ride 'experience' is cool, but the video with its atrocious editing is just downright terrible. I won't wait 10 minutes for it... Hell, even walk-on I would probably skip it.
Toy Story was OK, but I much prefer Men in Black or something like Haunted Mansion at Kennywood in terms of dark ride.
Mission Space... Eh.
I find Disney in general, terribly overrated if you are older than 10 or so... Epcot may be an exception, and although the parks are nice to walk around in... I just can never get into them at all. We get offered free Disney tickets when down there and still usually pass on them.

I'll take your free Disney tickets!
Ok, I'm officially stumped.

Perhaps on the Cedar Point maps next year they are including shiny happy little people.
Promoter of fog.
Looks just like the hanging string lights used on the Knotts boardwalk promo. Tony also went to knotts earlier this summer. Maybe he was checking out the new boardwalk cause Cedar Point is getting one too.
I'm liking this clue everyday thing!
Thank you Tony! So glad your back ;)
Nice find Rcoast, I didn't notice the lights til I read your post.
Not sure it's for a boardwalk but its gotta be something to do with the beach.
I noticed the boardwalk look to the latest image right away. My guess? Say goodbye to the Extreme Sports Stadium and hello to the new Boardwalk. It makes relative sense with the images we have received, it also fits in with redoing the hotels and we have had Matt say that they were under utilizing the beach. They may move some of the existing flat rides from other areas of the park to make room for additional "new" things as well.
So I am now on record and prepared to be laughed at on Tuesday.

I agree (and am happy someone else noticed the horrible editing with no transition between footage). It screams early California Adventure in it's blandness. It has no cohesion or story. It's just some discovery channel footage cut together with awesome Jerry Goldsmith music playing in the background. I just don't get why people are willing to wait over two hours for a couple minutes of Discovery Channel footage.

Agreed, love Men in Black. Great storytelling, incredible theming, physical props and sets > projection screens and cutouts, and the thrill of not just competing with those in your car, but also the car running parallel to you. Can't get this experience at home.

I was actually talking about Toy Story Mania with that last comment, since you can literally buy the attraction for about $20 at Walmart. Probably could've worded that better to prevent confusion. That said, nothing stopping me from getting the Soarin' experience at a local IMAX. Sure, it lacks people's disgusting sandal wearing feet blocking my view and the barely noticeable swaying motions but it's close enough.

Exactly what I was thinking and those lights sure do look nice, even during the day. Should Cedar Point get this, I hope it looks better then what Knott's got (what Knott's got has a very budget look but with the Timber Mountain refurb also happening that year, it's totally understandable). Apparently Rob wanted a more traditional boardwalk theme but Knott's swayed him towards the retro googie-style theme. I'm hoping Cedar Point's will look more traditional. I'm also hoping they add some Jumbo Jets (DCA has some called Golden Zephyr) and Flying Scooters like Geauga Lake used to have. Those are some VERY fun family friendly flats, very boardwalk-like.

If we get the boardwalk we've been begging for... I bet some of y'all still complain.
I won't let you down. Working on my script now. Complaining has to go just right
My guess on the video is that it will be like what you see on the Disney Channel or even worse on Nickelodeon. It will be excitement over a ride that may not be that big of a deal. The build up on Gatekeeper, yes that is ok because it is a roller coaster, it broke records, and it was a unique ride, but for a dark ride or any ordinary ride, unless it's a new or redone kids area, we don't need a group of kids or pre-teens or teens getting all gaga excited over one thing. I guess I also worry is this new attraction worth it depending on if or what it will replace. Dinosaurs replace Paddlewheel Excursion: horrible. Planet Snoopy replaces Peanuts Playground: good investment. We'll see.

Are they laughing?
Happy Happy...
Now that song is stuck in my hand. Thanks!
