Knott's is getting a new slide to its waterpark next door. And Cedar Fair is known to make many improvements here and there throughout their parks.

Well part of that other millions that they were suppossed to spend was also suppossed to go towards Geauga Lakes Phase II of Wild Water Kingdom. All they annouced for it was Tidal Wave, which is a 30,000 ft wave pool. They were suppossed to annouce more things such as more slides, the swim up alcoholic bar and stuff like that. Cedar Fair probably couldn't afford to do the shebang they promised for Phase II because of Attendance at both Geauga Lake and Cedar Point. Next year though we will see those numbers go up!
Has anyone been watching the other swing being built at Valleyfair? Today it looks like the whole ride is finished. http://www.valleyfair.com/news/the_scoop/construction_gallery.cfm

Found this to be a bit intresting, what do you all think? "
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Cedar Fair stated that they will be spending 58 million in their parks for 2006.
But this is interesting...
Confirmed- Cedar Point- 6 million
Confirmed- Michigan's Adventure- 6 million
Confirmed- Worlds of Fun- 14 million
Confirmed- Valleyfair!- 6 million
Semi-Con.- Geauga Lake- 3-5 million (Water Park)
Semi-Con.- DorneyPark- 3-5 million (Wavepool and maybe flat)
Confirmed- Cedar Point marina- 1 million
Confirmed- Castaway Bay Upgrade- 2 millionTotal- 41-45 million (interesting, what happened to the other 13-17 million???)
Could that go to another Cedar Point attraction that many are saying they will not announce just yet (woodie) "
Where did you get that... Looks cool... Oh wait, I said that about a 3 weeks ago... http://www.*************.com/boards/showthread.php?t=36691&page=3
Scroll down and you will see the exact same writing... I have it somewhere on Pointbuzz too and mirollercoast. How about you qoute the damn thing, since you did not say it.
Since that did not work, here is more proof... http://www.mirollercoast.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=21
Oh, the other site was *************.
You could have at lease changed some of it, instead of using every word of it. If you did your homework, you should know that Dorneypark and Geauga Lake have now annouced their expasions and should know how much money they will spend. I said 3-5 million cauz, they hadn't annouced it. But Geauga is spending 5 million on their wavepool and so is Dorneypark, and they are not getting a flat.
So is Skyhawk going to have a floor on the cars or is it gonna be a leg dangler? I looks like the one at Valleyfair doesn't have one.

To answer another common question, there is a floor attached to the seats. Riders' feet will not dangle freely, like on Raptor.

There is going to be a floor.

matt1027, look closely at the picture titled "Axle and Top Arch" on the XS construction page and you'll see, at the bottom of the ride units, are the placements for the floor.

In some of those pictures you can see a compression tank next to the supports. By the way T&T will give us answers to more of our questions about Skyhawk. Like the color choices and the comparison to Maxair. That should be intresting.

Imagine your favorite tv show. You've been through it all. The ups, the downs, the crazy coincidences and then bang! They tell you what it's all about. Would you be happy? Does it make sense? How come it all ended in a church? - Joker

Looks like he sorta tried to, so calm down. Its not like you have a copyright on what you posted. What he did wasn't cool, but you're overreacting.

And both of you forgot about the addition of themeing to Castaway Bay hotel rooms and Knott's getting a new Johnny Rockets and water slide.

I have a random question. Today's webcam shows a crane by the Skyride? Whats that all about? Do they take the cable cars off of that too or is that just maintnance?
Cars would be taken off at a station. That looks like its near one of the support poles down the midway, so I would guess its just inspection work.

According to the new OnPoint! post, they are replacing the Sky Ride cable.

Wow. As far as I know, this is the first time they've replaced the cable on Sky Ride. I could be wrong, but that's what I was told last year. Interesting.
Edit: What a job that must be. They have to support the counterweight somehow, I would think on the West Side.

According to some people here, this is the first time it's been replaced since the ride opened. Which, if true, would really suprise the heck out of me.
