I absolutely cannot wait for teasers! Last year was funnnn, even though the eventual news that it was going to be a water ride and not a 500 ft flying woodie with 30 inversions was disappointing ;)

It would be nice to have a collection of bullet points listing 100% facts about the ride.
We've got you covered:
Very cool! That'll make it much, much easier to quickly catch up before hitting the forums. I think Wednesday I popped on here, read on another site that there was a mid-August announcement coming, "announced" it here, only to find out it was pointed out about 3 pages back.
Well, Tony has not been left with much time to throw teasers our way on the blog. Has there ever been an announcement so soon?
I'll be there this coming Wednesday and I;ll get my first "live" look at the markings and posts in the sand. I think seeing it in person will put it into perspective for me.
Promoter of fog.
Can someone throw up a quick outline including where the new posts are at the park? The sewer markings and posts in the sand.
Thx :)
Outlining the utility markings, is not gonna tell you anything. Except where the utilitys are.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
I didn't realize they'd marked many more utilities, my bad. I thought they were just the ones around WT. The posts are on the opposite side of WT in the sand though, right? On the other side of the 2nd spike?
The stakes on the beach are to the north of WT, near the beach entrance and jet ski rental.
And as I understand it, there are various markings (paint & stakes) from Ocean Motion all the way down to Oceana and beyond.

This bullet point:
Dick Kinzel said the new ride will "bring back a lot of memories for people that follow Cedar Point."
Is not accurate. IN the article, it stated that the new ride will "bring back a lot of memories for people that follow Cedar Fair."
Ok, what do yellow arrows mean if anything? I saw at least 3 of those in totally differnet area than the stuff by the ocean motion and oceana stadium.
The reason I ask is becuase there were yellow arrows pointing in 3 different spots around Renegade River in Soak City.
Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.
On Tony's Twitter he mentioned being in a 2011 meeting... I pasted those below. So maybe teasers will be soon.

The Register published it both ways. In the link Doug posted above, it's Point. In the print article, it's Fair.
I went with Point because that made the most sense.
Perhaps I'm wrong, but IntaRide doesn't build any of the rides anyway, right? They manufacture them. I know that the two words can be substituted, but if build means construct, doesn't that mean that Intamin is still in the picture? I don't think Kinzel has officially ruled out Intamin, let me explain my reasoning:
Intamin manufactures, or fabricates rides. They do not build them. The building, or constructing of rides is contracted out to a local company. I discintly remember seeing a website for a company that built Shoot the Rapids, as well as Maverick. They were based locally.
Perhaps I'm over-analyzing, or I may be completely wrong. Correct me if I am, but can you see my point?
You are correct. Avista (I think, I may be wrong on the name) is the local company that actually does the cement pouring and steel erection.
But to the non-enthusiast public, they know Dragster, Millennium, Maverick, WT as built by Intamin. Regardless of who actually did the installation.

Today at the park I saw an arrow markings near where the back half of the Erie Estate past Joe Cool Cafe. The two stakes on the beach were located near the steps down to the jet ski rental and another a little farther around even with Coral Courtyards. Theres also many flags near the Ocean Motion control room and in the bushes on the walkways.
John, I think it might be Adena or something like that.
Visual Scan!
First Top Thrill Dragster train of 2011!
Rollbacks: 1st Triple Rollback of 2009!
After looking at the markings the other day and looking through my Cedar Point history book I am leaning towards the Cyclone on the beach rebirth. It really seems to make sense with what everyone is seeing and the DK quotes. I really hope that it is a new woodie! The next step would be to get rid of the beach eyesore and open up that view of the lake.
No coaster will ever be too fast or too tall!
