As much as I dislike intamin for all of the screw ups at cedar point, I have to say that El Toro(intamin woodie) is one ride that I would not mind cedar point getting.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
And one ride that Kinzel has specifically and vocally nixed coming to CP.

I'm still curious to find out how the ride will be laid out in the location we are assuming.
A possibility: The Coral Gardens & Oceana Stadium (or whatever it's called now) are gone. In fact, they could relocate the Giant Wheel and Troika if they really wanted space.
And, obviously, "Cyclone" or "Cyclone 2" or "Cyclone 2011" or some other varient would be the most likely name--unless they go further back and name it "Switchback Railway 2011"
If it's a woodie, my money is on GCI. If it's steel, B & M.

I have a feeling if this is a wooden coaster, it will be a GCI. I really like Gravity Group and Ravine Flyer and have yet to ride Voyage, but Cedar Fair has built two GCIs at WoF and VF and almost Great America. It seems Cedar Fair is on a roll with GCI.

Being a betting man and all, I would assume that this will be the last year for Disaster Transport. DK has acknowledged on multiple occasions that it was not a good ride. It is a "dog of a ride". It is an eyesore. My thoughts for the past few years is that they would rebuild a new and improved Cyclone over the previous location. That coaster was one of 3 that did not have a long lifespan. It looked to be a killer ride. I am just a betting man though.......Let's watch and see what happens. Should be fun! I have not always been right, but this one is looking that direction I think.

If it's wood,I'd also bet on GCI.

I dont think DT is going anywhere, I would believe that the Oceana stadium is going bye bye. I am hoping for a boardwalk type area being built with a ride that will fit the era of boardwalks.
Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.
I agree that any wood coaster should be a GCI and the Oceana Stadium would be on the chopping block......IF that is in fact what we're getting......a coaster. I'm still hesitant on the idea given the marked area so far.

I agree with what a lot of other people are saying the markings, and the area really don't fit a wooden coaster, but no one has mentioned the inverted wooden coaster.
A boardwalk cannot be supported by the crowds at CP. Have you ever been to Indiana Beach? Have you seen the boardwalk area in front of Galaxi when they are busy? Have you ever tried to manuever the "boardwalk" at Hershey when they are busy? Heck no! There is no way that a boardwalk will be built in that area. Maybe a couple fast food type joints will cut it, but a 20 ft boardwalk area is way out of the question. It would have to be 50-75 ft wide to support the foot traffic of CP. Hence it looses the boardwalk feel and becomes a midway feel just like it is today.
The boardwalk idea seems great and all, but it is not a reality. They don't work in high volume parks.
OK, OK, enough of me now. I will let the kids play and come up with the great ideas. How about the world's largest Lemon Chill Stand?? Hasn't that idea surfaced before? Oh, I did talk to the Lemon Chill guy and he said that there were definately footers going in as we speak.

You just can't see them because they have done all the work at night and buried it in the sand every morning. :)
Who will be the first one to find a footer for the new attraction buried in the sand? ;)

If you start at the resort side of the Coral Garden and run up to Troika you have room for a coaster. In fact, looking at the aerial shot, it is the same size as the Main Midway from the end of Raptor's lift hill through Turnpike Cars--i.e. a Raptor sized area. It could be the Giant Wheel going into Demon Drop's old area--which would be aesthetically a good fit for the front of the park.

Did someone say there were markings near choas?

How about a GCI twister with a station inline with Wicked Twister a right curve to a diagnal lift towards the beach. A banked drop into the picnic area, turn around, air time hills back towards where the stakes are on the beach, helix turnaround, cut through the lift, jump the midway towards chaos current spot, few twists and turns, turn around where the raft ride by maXair is and back to the station.

Think I'd like it even more if the 'Teases and Clues' link was activated. :)

I think the clues and marketing should be left to the marketing Department and Tony and Tyler. To me it seems like Kinzel wants to shoot his mouth off to look like a good guy after the failed merger attempt.

I feel the anticipointment wave growing...
Remember that Mr. Kinzel stated it would "target thrill seekers". Do you really think a GCI or any wooden coaster aside from The Voyage fits that description?
Nope.
