I think you guys are missing the point (no pun intended) of this commercial. It's not intended as something you pay attention to and analyze. It's meant to play in the background, and certain parts will catch certain people's attention.
It's a good idea, especially in a hotel room, when an extended play commercial is the ideal startup channel.
Josh - I think that's where they missed on this though. It's too long as a commercial, and it's too short as an infomercial.
They could have done a much better job on this.
Goodbye MrScott

You know its way too long if an adult CP enthusiast has trouble sitting through the entire thing. Not a bad effort though, I guess.

Agreed with others that this was a less "Disney" "perky girl" style commercial. I am curious to know where it will air. Maybe they have a deal with the local cable to show it at hotel rooms in Sandusky like Disney TV in Orlando.
If it is meant for the CP rooms then I don't get it. I mean, the guest is already there.
I thought she could use a little more energy but it was certainly a step in the right direction.

In Sandusky's current cable network, it's impossible for them to just show it in the hotels only. The only way that could happen is if CP worked a deal with a network like Lodgenet who only broadcasts in hotels, and even at that, the hotels would have to agree to it. I don't see it happening.
Do you really think that hotels "off point" want a commercial playing only in their rooms advertising CP's properties? Yeah, not going to happen.
The only place this is going to play is at 4am on a cable network and in CP properties. And I thank God for that because that means I won't have to see it again.

I really thought the only location this was planned to play is where it is. If someone is already considering CP and is on the website they can watch it for more info. I also wonder when it was made. It does seem dated but somehow also recent as it shows recent rides, etc. Maybe they planned to do big things but didn't and now just put it on the website.
I'm going out to get some air.
I sat through this ad, and found it quite "ho-hum".... however, my wife (who is not a big enthusiast) was sitting on the couch, not directly paying attention, but a few things in the ad caught her attention and made her ask questions. The part where "perky girl" talks about early entry for resort guests got my wife excited.... until I told her that our Platinum Passes give us the same perk...
So, although it's not perfect, it at least appears that it gets the attention of the demographic they are trying to reach. When they want to get our (enthusiast) attention they will just do a 30 second spot with quick cuts of on-ride footage, cheese-on-a-stick, buffets, and random land clearings.

Orlando area hotels don't seem to have any problem showing the Disney propaganda. I don't think I have ever stayed at an off-property location that didn't show that particular channel.
Perhaps it is a package deal. "If we allow you to sell Disney park tickets at your front desk then you have to allow us to play the Disney tourist channel in your hotel."
I really don't know how it works.

I do, that's why I commented on it. If they wanted to have a channel dedicated specifically for CP in the hotels in Sandusky a lot of equipment would have to be purchased such as channel inserters and rights to a specific channel. And that would have to be purchased for each hotel they wanted to put it in. You can't just put whatever you want on whatever channel you decide you want to put it on. There's things such as franchise agreements that the cable companies make with communities in order to be allowed to proivide service in that area. Those agreements limit the use of what can be shown on specific frequencies anywhere in that community. For instance, we have a channel here where I live, channel 23. It's a government channel but nothing is ever shown on it. It was written in the franchise agreement that channel 23 would be reserved for any time the local government wanted to put something on the air but you can't insert anything on that channel locally or face HUGE fines from the FCC.
Unless, like I said, they worked a deal with Lodgenet, who broadcasts in almost every chain hotel nationwide.
But again, I don't see either situation coming to fruition.

SO this cheese on a stick is getting a lot of attention. I thought it was funny it made the add. Can't say I have ever consumed it but I am happy it is available to those who enjoy it...

They could run it only the channel guide on Sandusky's Buckeye Cablesystem. They usually run summertime programming that is longer than the usual fare. That way they would be able to run it in hotel rooms all over the Sandusky area.

I didn't consider that channel but usually it's not a local station. Normally it's the TV Guide channel and we just send our channel lineup to them remotely. The cable system doesn't have any choice over what's on that channel other than the listings.
EDIT: I just looked at their channel lineup for the Sandusky area and they don't even show a local access or TV Guide channel on it.

^ They have one, Buckeye Cable just does their own variant of the TV Guide channel.

The shots of her on the beach at thebeginning were shot towards the end of the summer season. It wasfreezing cold out and the beach was closed. Funny how you wouldn'treally know that watching it.

I can tell ya from experience that cheese on a sticks are great! I had one for the first time last year (shocking I know) and found the taste to be almost exactly like a grilled cheese.....except on a stick.

I have also yet to have a cheese on a stick. However being from so far away and only usually being in the park for around 4 days a year, it was not usually on my mind. Hopefully this year I will try one out. Where exactly can they be found?

Hoping to one day build these great machines that we affectionatly call "Coasters"
All about the family? Then where's Dad in the commercial?
Pitty, that they use the family and down home values concept without including him.
I just assumed he was out in the park riding coasters with the kids.

See, it leaves it up to your imagination. So really it's aimed at guys too. Your wife or girlfriend can be doing all this stuff while you get drunk at the bar (or whatever it is you'd like to do).

When I was younger my mother would often take us kids to Disneyland when my father was out of town.
Interestingly I don't think I have ever heard anyone criticize the fact that the Disneyworld "perky girl" doesn't seem to have her family/spouse in tow.
