I did not see a post on here about this so forgive me if I missed it.
I just got an email from Cedar Point with a link to their new commercial.
It was.....
Looking for feedback. Not horrible, I would say but I loved the food part. Not sure the food part would make my top 5 reasons to visit.
They are obviously trying to advertise it as a major resort instead of just focussing on the amusement park part. I am not saying they are wrong to do this but again, the food.....
I'm going out to get some air.
The last thing to brag about is a national chain of restaurants such as Chik-Fil-A, TGI Fridays, Famous Daves, and a Subway......
Nothing original in the place at all. Unless you consider carnival food original.
Link to the commercial?
I should have included this http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/visit/index.cfm
sorry.
The woman is a little too chipper for me but I guess you need to be :)

Someone from Cedar Fair needs to visit Dollywood or one of the Busch parks. Tomorrow.
Promoter of fog.
Tee hee, I watched it again. Where is this woman's family? Did Cedar Point not want to pay more overly exhuberant actors?
Also, way to minimize the rides.
I'm going out to get some air.
She looks really familiar, I wonder if she is local, or if she has done more commercials.
I also love how they feature the old fountain, which is not there anymore. :) Overall not a bad commercial, I wonder if this was done in house or if they brought a company in to do it.
^There was a really quick shot of her and her family, but only the single shot.

I saw a single shot of a woman who looked like her with their family but I don't think it was her.

I'm glad I was not the only one who was bothered by the lack of the woman's family. How can you keep pushing "family friendly" without showing the mom with her kids?
Also, it seems like the production quality is a bit... out of date. Look at the pixelated Cedar Point logo with the plan white text on a black background. How generic. Also, the cuts didn't seem to be that interesting, just kinda boring.
I remember when that video was being shown in Disney hotel rooms, with that cute and perky girl instead. It's very nearly a complete conceptual rip-off from that.
That's not to say that it isn't good. It's actually the message that they need to be delivering. My only concern is that it's a little too long for the Web. I wonder how many people sit through the whole thing.

I think it is a very good ad for families who are looking for a resort experience. I think it has too little about the rides and some people would prefer to see more about that but those people are likely to find that info on their own and they are trying to promote it to the people who may not go on the rides.
I don't think it is all bad but it does seem a little dated as someone mentioned.

Jeff, I was actually thinking the exact same thing. If I remember correctly, Six Flags TV is the same idea. However, it's much better than this. I do agree that it's a bit long.

Wow, that's so very similar to the Disney in-room commercials, but just shy of being done as well. A little long for the web, but I could see if playing in the background at the hotel while everyone's getting ready in the morning or whatever.
It is not letting me put it back up but it is in the earliest posts...

Why spoil the view of a fairly hot chick by showing kids? (just kidding :) ). Seriously, this commercial is all about a mom trying to relate one on one with other moms. A very effective strategy I'd bet.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
By the way, the girl in the Disney hotel rooms is hot, even if she is obnoxious. Hopefully our two female visitors won't be offended by that.
