So ask yourself...what is CP missing?

1. a "new" breed of wooden coaster (i.e., Thunderhead, Prowler, Terminator, El Toro)

2. A log flume

3. A "dark ride"

Really is there anything else that CP is truly missing?

4. A floorless

5. A flyer (hopefully B&M if they get one)

6. Possibly a newer wild mouse or spinning coaster like Knott's got recently

7. Soak City has fallen way behind most big waterparks.

Four discount funday tickets to Cedar Point: $130.96
Overnight stay at Breakers Express: $70
Riding rides the size of skyscrapers while "legally" breaking the local speed limit: Priceless

#7 is particularly true, I would love some Pro Slide goodness to come Soak City's way.

Also think from a GP perspective, a floorless is not much different then Raptor or Mantis. KI already has a flyer, and a mouse would be a capacity nightmare at CP.

^ Yes, Kings Island has a flyer but how many people do you think make the trek down to Kings Island when you have Cedar Point so close? To be honest the only reason I go to Kings Island beside the Beast and the new Diamondback is that it is only an hour away from me. If I were right in the middle of the two or even slightly closer to Cedar Point than I am now (currently 3 hours) I would solely visit Cedar Point. It is just that much better of a park.

^The people who live in Columbus do, thats a big market for CP.

As for your comment about CP vs KI. I live only 75 min from CP but I still make it 3 hours down the road to KI a few times a year, for one thing it opens earlier, for another it has better wooden coasters (including my #1,) a Sally Dark Ride, a better water park, Disk-O coaster, one of my top 10 steels, its a theme park and its something different. Why be content with only one park, variety is the spice of life. If I had more money I would be hitting up Kennywood, Holiday World, and other local parks more often too. CP is a great park, but its not the only one nor is it the best one by any means.

^^^ "Thinking from a GP perspective", a ride that KI has doesn't affect CP.

^^ Oh, I agree with what you are saying for the most part. But for the most part people don't get the chance to visit many parks like we do. My brother who loves coasters as much as I do but can only make one or two trips a year would rather make the 3 hour drive to Cedar Point than the one hour to Kings Island if he can only make one visit a year. He has also been spoiled on Cedar Point coasters too. When he got to go to Kings Island earlier this year he rode the new ride got off and was like "Eh, doesn't compare to CP"

I guess what I'm trying to say is that beyond us coaster enthusiasts how many people do you know that make that extra drive to go to the other parks? Or basically I agree with the post above me.

I'm just saying that most of the GP probably doesn't even know that KI has a flyer. Flyers are cool for the experience, but I would much rather see a new woodie. We have Blue Streak and Mean Streak, but MS sucks.

People go to both parks. Thats what I'm doing this year. I already went to KI once this year, and will go back three more times. I liked Firehawk and I know if CP ever got a flyer they would go B&M style. I know it would be a lot more fun. I think a flyer diving over the lagoon would be a sweet ride element.

Let's Get Weird.

You're not the general public though. Most people I know don't even know what Kings Island is.

I'm not denying that a flyer would be cool. I'm just saying that I would rather see a good woodie.

I only have experience with the one flyer at Kings Island. Which we all know is horrible capacity wise. How are B&M flyers when they come to capacity? Are they the same?

^Pretty much, and at least in my opinion they are worse then the Dutchman. B&Ms have the awesome pretzel loop and that's about it.

Maverickfanaic, that last paragraph was more directed at you. Just wanted to suggest to you that CP is not the end all be all, and that those of us who live around here happen to be close to some other amazing parks as well and that we should take advantage of that.

Loading and unloading Firehawk on Opening Day was painfully slow. I hope that they fixed it because I couldn't believe how long it took for one train to be unloaded, loaded, checked, then sent off.

Touchdown. I believe I covered that pretty well in my response.

^ As far as Firehawk is concerned I think they for the first time went to using both sides of the station for the first time this past weekend. Even when the crew is fast however the wait is still forever long because it is so slow.

They used both sides of the station on Opening Day. I don't remember it being that slow in the last couple years. Or maybe it's just me.

The GP may not know the difference between a flyer and an inverted or w.e. but they certainly appreciate them. I have a non enthusiast friend who visited KI last weekend. I asked how diamondback was and she liked it but found firehawk to be much more exciting. Flyers are exciting to people, especially the GP.

I only rode FireHawk one time this year, I still prefer SuperMan over Firehawk, I feel mush tighter in the B&M trains.

Quote from a Corkscrew ride op, "And Dragster is down again"

I was wondering if any of you guys saw the crane in the webcam this morning. I have no clue what it is for but it looks to be near mf island. what do you think?

In regards to Firehawk: They have used both sides of the station every time I have been there. Which takes care of one of the things I hated most about riding it in Ohio. Sitting in the brake run staring into the sun for 5 minutes.

In regards to the crane: If your talking about the one in this webcam capture, It's no where near MF island. It's hard to tell exactly what it's working on, but it's possible they are working on Iron Dragon.

Just rode Firehawk yesterday. It is still a capacity nightmare. There were about 5 minute intervals between dispatches, and they were only using one side.
