Im not sure that any of you have listened to the interview posted on the Cedar Fair site. Dick Kinzel revealed during the interview that a new ride was planned for 2009 at Cedar Point, and because of the staggering attendance in the first part of 2008 they persuaded the manufacturer to post-pone the ride until 2010. you can check it out at cedarfair.com
I have to find the post where I said it was supposed to be built in 2009 but was postponed to 2010. So many people were so quick to rip it apart.
^^^ Thanks for the link air_time_bob ... I have to agree with Corkscrew that it is good to hear that coming from Dick :)
Now who could that "ride purveyor" be? Looking at the size of that cleared area on the island in the photos I'd put 2 guesses out there -- One starts with an "I" the other starts with a "B". My gut says it's probably the "I", although deep down I hope it's "B".
Well some healthy speculating is fun...I usually think of it this way: CP prides itself on having a healthy collection of variety...from a stand-up to a suspended to a classic woodie to an Intamin giga, they have huge variety of coasters (the flats are coming along now as well).
So ask yourself...what is CP missing?
1. a "new" breed of wooden coaster (i.e., Thunderhead, Prowler, Terminator, El Toro)
2. A log flume
3. A "dark ride"
Really is there anything else that CP is truly missing?
