Why in the world would CP tear down a bunch of trees on an island, next to their signature attraction, for a large storage garage that could then be clearly seen???? There are plenty of other places for storage that are out of the way and sight. C'mon gang. I'm not saying a record-breaking coaster is going in, but they are preparing the area for something decent. It's not hard to fathom...nothing new this year, and renovated kiddie rides from GL last year. Despite the economy, I'm sure they have exciting plans for 2010 at their anchor park. This has been a long rumored location for the next big ride.
Maybe they will make a supersonic coaster so you can drive to CP, spend the morning there, and then head out to Cali for the afternoon and be back at CP before dark. Seems reasonable to me.

It's Cedar Fair Chaos Theory?
I said it was reasonable to suggest it... I didn't say anything about believing it! I think two construction projects at this time of year, in areas that are Haunt-related, at loosely-related parks, in parts of the parks where such construction projects would not disrupt the rest of the park... could mean that both parks are working on similar projects.
How construction at a park in California could be related to a park in northern Ohio I will never understand. On my way to work today I saw that they cleared land on a lot here in Windsor. Maybe that's related too.

No no no, Vince... that land clearing by Casino Windsor is obviously related to the new Walmart they're building in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Agreed! After all they did build a Warehouse OFF the peninsula a few years ago.....
Just your usual come and go poster. One week I am here, then I disappear for a while.
Like I said in another thread, they should build a flume/ darkride shooter combo that would be great for familys.
That way they kill 2 birds, and have a great attraction that would keep familys and thrill seekers alike happy.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
You're all jerks! JERKS! ;)
You almost make me want to focus on work, or at least leave early for lunch!
^ ...I would love a new flume...
I am glad they are using that island for things now! First, terror island. now the mystery construction. Yay! Hopefully they wont put in a ugly storage building that's as ugly as DT on a hot summer day!

Isn't that the truth! I know we can speculate and wondered and thats what so good about this site is the ideas people have. IMO i think it is something for the 2010 season.
Its 70 Degrees here in Michigan today, Can I please get a cheese on a stick. I cant seem to find the lemon chill guy to find out whats really going on at CP.
Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.

I say the "possible" new coaster has a water splash finale (like Sheikra) and people can choose to get wet by it or not. This would justify the removal of SRF, and the watersplash would be in the current spash pool of SRF. It also seems like Cedar Fair has been on a B&M kick lately, I'm thinkin (hoping) that this next one will come from them... we'll see.
Just my two cents.
I think it is a perfect size for a spinning coaster or a smaller fun coaster. Does anyone else think of a Mysery Mine kind of ride like the one at Dollywood? I can really see a spinning coaster because Maverick did not really turn out to be the family ride they expected.
I doubt a mystery mine kind of ride or a spinning coaster as capacity would suck. My bet is a new pathway or a new coaster.

Hey all, I'm brand new to posting here even though I've been checking up on this site for a while. As for the new area I think they are for sure building a new water coaster, it seems to make sense as SRF has lost a lot of it's luster on the last few years.
