For those of you who want me to post what I've heard, I already have about 10 times throughout this thread. I've said all along that they are tearing out SRF at some point (whether it's during the season or after Labor Day, I don't know). A new flume is going in its place. I know someone who has seen the blueprints/diagrams of this with their own eyes.
Those are the bare bones of it, and that's what I know beyond a shadow of a doubt. As far as height, speed, and all that jazz, I don't know any of that. But I can assure you that it's going to be a flume. My guess (and it's exactly that, a guess) is that they will start pouring footers on the island during the season and prepping it for vertical construction. They'll tear down SRF after Labor Day (or possibly at the end of Halloweekends) to start construction on the "mainland." The first paragraph was fact, the second was speculation. Encrypt it, timestamp it, bookmark it, do what you want.
Contrary to some of your insinuations, I don't make crap up on a message board to sound cool on the internet. If my life was that pathetic to resort to trying to sound cool by making up fake rumors about an amusement park on its main fansite, then I would probably take a flying leap off a highrise.
Well, logic tells me that would make sense. I really hope that CF learns some things from KBF and actually themes the ride. If you could have seen the original drawings for SRF it would have really been a sight in the park.
They could do the same with a flume and that clearing on the island would make a great starting point for a "mountain".

^That would totally suck canal water. Okay, lagoon water. But it would still suck.

Why? Besides the fancy pants lift; its the same as SRF. I would even say SRF would be better because it has a steeper drop, I think.
I believe Raceringer. I hope to God he is wrong, but I'll just wait and see.

I'm going to side with you on that. I've been thinking flume all along, it makes perfect sense.
The last time I rode SRF was 10 years ago, and don't care if I ever ride it again. If people want to get soaked, they'll ride Thunder Canyon. The land available on the island and the area occupied by SRF will be the perfect placement for a new lengthy flume. I can picture something along the likes of Disney's Splash Mountain.
Well...let's not get carried away. It ain't going to be inspiring thoughts of the $100 million Splash Mountain. Again, KBF has a nice flume and if they aspire to THAT I would be fine with it.

Yes, my thoughts exactly. Something like Timber Mountain does not require a $100 million investment. I imagine that even a well themed flume would not cost as much as a new steel coaster.
A copycat or similar design to HW's Perilous plunge would only be a replacement for Snake. I'd much rather see something that offers a more complete ride experience and which is available to more members of the family.

Does anyone know if the manufactures modify the boats to create a larger splash? I watched the test run of pligrim on the HW Blog and the splash looked weak. In my oppinion the higher you bulid the splashdowns, the more uncomfortable the splashdown becomes on the abdomen. Anyone with me on that?
Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.
The test run looked really bad. The Holiblog said it was normal. I'm not buying it.

Well they also have to test the depths to get it right. But I agree that it was rather weak...even with test dummies. Though I wonder if they were even filled. Cause if not, that's even more sad.

I didn't think the splash was bad. The thing that has me concerned is how rough the entry into the water looks. Appears to take a huge jolt on impact.
^^^That's it riding the rails into the water. That jolt will be less than noticeable once they get weight in the boats.

^ Eh, I disagree. For one, this ride is 100% ugly as sin. Yeah...that wierd elevator-lift really fits a frontier boat-ride theme. It belongs in a water park, and the splash is nothing a ride that is millions of dollars less and hundreds of feet shorter cant accomplish. What's the re-ride appeal? The big scary 200 foot drop?? OOOh....welcome back to 1989!
I personally dont get it.
