Do you have the capacity numbers, or are you speaking strictly from anecdotal experience?

Andit doesnt have to be a racer, could be a dueler. You could easily do awild west theme on that (Sheriff and Outlaw, Calvery and Indians,Cowboy and Rancher, etc.)

And a dueler is the same thing as a racer, more or less. While that would help with capacity, it seems like an awful waste of money.

^If you have ever been on a dueler you would know that is not the case. And no I dont have the exact numbers but think about it, 3 trains every 2 min and 20 sec. That by my math is 1850 people per hour (assuming a full train) which is pretty darn good.

Ive never seen that ride stack yet, and that park used to be my home park.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but...

If the ride is 2:20 (2.33 mins) long, that means they can send 25.75 trains out per hour (60/2.33). Each train can hold 24 people, meaning each side can send out 618 riders per hour (25.75x24). The total racer capacity is therefore 1236 rph.

And as it turns out, HP's site bears this out.

As for the duelers... Yeah, I get that they're technically not racers, but the fact remains that you're getting essentially the same experience (two similar coasters competing/dueling/racing/arm wrestling) for a high cost, especially if you're making a dueler simply to boost capacity, as that money could better be spent elsewhere.

A slight deviation from the topic, there has been construction equipment in front of the Pagoda cam all day. They are filling a dump truck full of dirt as of now. Of course it's not work for anything too exciting , but it's something else to throw into the mix. If you check Dragster Cam it appears they are digging between the landscaping in the Midway and the Pagoda building.

It looks just like they are doing some landscaping. I dont see any digging though, but its raining and some of the cam is a little blury.

Actualy, I just looked at the web cam (3:48), and it looks like they are ripping up sections of the midway.

My guess is that they are just replacing sections of cement that needs to be replaced.

Actually, isn't there a drain located there? The way the concrete slopes on both sides is why I say that...not that it matters, I imagine we'll see a lot of equipment and digging with opening day coming up soon.

I imagine though, that opening weekend, there might be a temporary kodak spot with people taking pictures of whatever is/is not happening on MF island.

Or they may have just found Jimmy Hoffa.

Didnt one of Tony and Tylers blog entries mention that there was gonna be something going there like a merch stand or a Food shop?

I think they were talking about the new interactive fountain that will be replacing the sphere fountain on the main midway.

It was funny when I looked on the cams today! I have a nice shot of the park from the other day which shows the nice blue skys and the sun, then we look today and it looks so different with the equipment right there! At least we can see life in the park!

They're building a permanent structure for the timeshare people. They were unhappy being hidden in the back of the park by Magnum.

I've been capturing the webcams a bit... I got to watch the cars get put on Super Himalaya, the gondolas go on the Giant Wheel, saw Power Tower get a lot of attention, and saw some work on the Mantis and Millenium Force lifts over the past week. It is pretty cool to be able to see all of that!

I missed when the Corkscrew trains were put out onto the track, though.

I'll post the sequence I captured from PagodaCam today to YouTube (actually, uploading now). They didn't finish, so it's still a mystery, but it is kinda cool to see it in action.

Thanks for the cams shots of the work! I wonder what they are up to!

It looks like on the webcam that the path is torn up for some new pavement. They are probably finishing the pavers on the main midway.
