Well unless Intamin can provide them with something they're looking for then who knows. Cedar Point would be (even though it already is) the park with the most Intamin coasters(7). And I hate to break it to ya Touchdown, but Dragster counts as a coaster. I know it breaks your heart, but it counts.:)

^ I think he meant coasters similar to the Intamin mega lite. I wish they would put in a pre-fab because then they could break the record for steepest wood coaster. But isn't there no way that Cedar Point is ever getting one?
I would rather have a GCI. Another Intamin "Terra-coaster" would just be pointless. A smooth GCI with some nice airtime, tight overbanked turns, and sharp drops would be excellent for the park. People in Ohio don't know what a smooth woodie is like.
A B&M flyer like Manta over the lagoon would also be cool, but probably not possible.
Let's Get Weird.
I know whats going to be, they are going to put more hills and extend TTD like the plans that surfaced on the net around the same time as TTD showed up at the point.
If they put in a B&M Flyer over that lagoon they could call it Walleye or Bay Gull, but maybe disney would sue them because the name Walleye and Wall-E are too close. Or make it a dueling B&M flyer with the names Bay Gull Vs. Sea Gull
Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.
On that side it would have to be a lake gull. However, if it goes all the way across to the other side, it could be both. For everyone that dosn't like the humor, spttttttthhhhhhhttttttttsssssstttttt( best way to give you all raspberries)
I really hope it's some sort of flume. One more frigging roller coaster that a lot of folks are either too big or small to ride and I'm moving to Anaheim. Cedar Point needs a philosophy adjustment.
I was raised just across the bay Cedar Point and loved it more than anyplace else growing up. I absolutely dispise what it's become. Kinzel needs to go.

I think Cedar Point is passed the age of building the tallest and fastest roller coasters now. I think if they do decide to build another coaster, it will be a family type. I don't know If I would want a Flume ride again though just because they don't get you wet that much. That's just me though. I'm cool with whatever Cedar Point decides on.
Unless they're promised a more maintenance easy flume, I would say they wont get one. I don't know if they'd go thru the trouble of demolishing one because of maintenance issues to build another a few years later. Of course a lot has changed so maybe they feel more confident building a newer model.

There is that mystery yellow B&M track sitting at the B&M plant in Ohio...
Although I have heard rumors that CP has a 5 coaster/attraction deal with Intamin. Anyone know if there is any truth to this?
There's no way to prove there's any kind of said deal with Intamin. That goes the same with the 4 coaster deal with GCI. Take it with a grain of salt.
And the yellow B&M track has nothing to do with CP or any CF park as it has the name of a different park on it's label.

The name on the pieces is actually "X-Works" and it was stated by the manufacture at the plant that the names had been changed due to pictures being taken of the track. In saying that though, I do not believe that that track has anything to do with the clearing that we have seen on Millennium Island.

If this could be a rumor. I believe with the Yellow Track that has been taking off the WICKED TWISTER shows that there will be a New Coaster on the MF Island.
Huh?
I'm not sure what the opposition is to a log flume. I really enjoy Splash Mountain and Dudley Doo-Right's Ripsaw Falls...and the themeing has nothing to do with it. They both are fun rides.

One thing I've been concerned about (and this is going off my (correct ;)) assumption that the new whatever is a GCI), is capacity.
One thing about GCI's is that they seem to mostly fit well within smaller parks, as they have no MCBR and relatively short track lengths, and thus low capacity, as compared to some of CP's coasters. And I don't think that GCI would go much higher than they've already gone, so simply scaling it up wouldn't be a solution.
Does anyone have any info/commentary on the capacity of modern GCI's?
Brandon
^djDaemon the three ones at Hersheypark do just fine with their lines, especially Lightning Racer (for obvious reasons) which by the way does have a MCBR and can run 3 trains. GCI builds what parks want them to build, if CP asks for 3 train operation they will get a ride capable of three train operation.
I don't know that citing a racer is relevant, since I highly doubt CP would build another one (just like they're not going to build another Maverick).
And I understand that GCI builds what they're asked to build, but even they have limits. If CP asked them to build a 150' coaster, I highly doubt they'd accept, in the same way that I doubt B&M would build a 420' launched LTHB abomination. Furthermore, having 3 train operation does not guarantee increased capacity (see Mantis for an example, albeit unrelated regarding the cause).
Brandon
^djDaemon my point was that GCI does build coasters capable of high capacity. Even if you just had Lightning or Thunder by itself, it still has a great capacity. That thing runs a flawless, non stacking, three train operation no problem.
And it doesnt have to be a racer, could be a dueler. You could easily do a wild west theme on that (Sheriff and Outlaw, Calvery and Indians, Cowboy and Rancher, etc.)
