Mystery Construction

Alright i'm gonna go ahead and guess that it will be a dark ride of some sorts.
(I'm taking this way too far) but whoever mentioned that symbol that looked like Millenniums at the top of the bottle on the website, if you look at it upside down it sort of looks like the word "in", and the dog they added is sitting inside the bottle.
Figured it all out. :)

sorry missed the " Aquatrax??? Not in 2010..." on twitter
my bad

It still could be a lot of different things at this point. A wing rider looks kind of cool. Fits with the theme and would provide a new experience at Cedar Point.. I would be happy with that or some type of coaster/flume.

What company makes X?

Eye candy :P

More hints towards our Whyte Lightning. Looks like CP is into theming this year

We have known about this since yesterday.

@DENBEAR I agree, it does kinda look like an off-shoot of a 4D, but a 4D doesn't have a cool launch or anything like that, so I'd have to say that the wing is better. 4Ds are stupid to me...

I took the link to the Sally Dark Ride. TERRIBLE! I hope and pray that we don't get one of those.

Still wondering how they would get a wooden coaster over the water while allowing boats to go under it.....

I still don't think it'll be a flume...

RCT3 fans, how about a splitting coaster? That would be awesome.

P.S. Those of you posting now, and just reading this, S&S, B&M, Gravity Group, GCI, TOGO, Aquatrax, Mack, and Gerstlauer are out. They are not removing Snake River Falls. You're welcome for the update.

I hope they don't do this but this could fit in with a beer theme.

plus it could probably fit in the small space on Mill Isle.

Yeah, they would hype a stupid flat ride like that this much.

Take a look at these pictures of Ravine Flyer II. It shows how they could get a wooden coaster to go over the water onto the island:

Hoping to one day build these great machines that we affectionatly call "Coasters"

Won't be a wooden coaster, or any coaster for that matter drop the hope. Flume ride.

Revoman1, why do you have to be such a buzzkill???

From what I've heard the Furious Baco (the only wing rider) trains are too heavy and rattle a lot making the ride rough as hell. Although it seems the Baco trains share a similar theme as Whyte Lightning I don't think we'll see another wing rider anytime soon.

@Maverickfanatic07 I see what you are getting at there. That could work. Obviously, it would be redesigned to fit the needs of CP, but I see how that could work.

I just think that, with the wooden supports and everything, going to the island would be kinda pointless. I was thinking that part of the ride would actually be over the water, besides just having it transition over it. That's why I thought you would need Steel becuase, with some fancy steel work, you wouldn't need to put steel in the water at all. And with decent steel work, only a few supports would be needed.

EDIT: @realmadrid311: Couldn't they use fiberglass instead of metal and take off unecessary parts to make it lighter? Make it like a 4D, but without rotating and with the barrell theme. Plus, its notlike TTD is the quietest thing in the world.

^^^ They could put it on the beach too. Amazing what Gravity Group can do. It could run double out and back with a mid block brake. Awesome capacity with amazing possibilites.

What makes everyone say it will be a flume ride? How would you theme an exciting, Cedar Fair worthy theme ride over a body of water and on an island and back. Have a little faith everyone....

Business people out there, listen up. So, I don't know the exact details, but correct me if I'm wrong. Dale Earnhardt Inc. (DEI) has just entered a formal "partnership" with Cedar Fair (CF). This means that DEI and CF are partners for these two additions at KD and Carowinds. Lets assume that the partnership to BUILD the rides was 50/50 and the theming was completely up to DEI. That means, out of the $25mil at KD, only about $10mil was paid for by CF (assuming that the ride cost $20mil and the theming cost $5mil). That would also mean that CF paid only $9mil for the Carowinds coaster ($9mil from DEI and $5mil for theming). If this scenario is correct, that would mean that CF has only paid $19mil for capital expenditures for 2010. Assuming the budget is $50mil-$75mil for 2010, you could expect a major coaster at the Point, as well as many capital improvements at all the parks.

Now I know that requires a lot of assumptions, as well as the speculation that DEI pays for the theming and HALF the ride, but this scenario is something that could happen.

Let me know what you think.

Refering to above, CF spent a total of $30 million on new coasters last year, as well as an unreported amount redesigning Valleyfair's water park, moving Carolina Cobra to Carowinds, moving El Durado and Americana to Kings Dominion, adding Starlight Experience at the Point, and adding/expanding shows at Dorney Park. If my calculations are correct, they have the money to build a major coaster in 2010 at the point, especially since the GM is willing to spend a little more to go out with a bang.

Also, in 06, CF spent $1.24 billion to buy Paramounts Parks. No amount is unheard of these days.

No comment on this scenario guys?

Hey now...I was just saying. I for one hope more than anything that it's not that. Oviously it probably won't be. Hope it's not a water ride either :(

The ride is 100% not a flume or woodie.

Is there a reason why you can say that with such confidence????
