Refering to my previous post, CF spent a total of $30 million on new coasters last year, as well as an unreported amount redesigning Valleyfair's water park, moving Carolina Cobra to Carowinds, moving El Durado and Americana to Kings Dominion, adding Starlight Experience at the Point, and adding/expanding shows at Dorney Park. If my calculations are correct, they have the money to build a major coaster in 2010 at the point, especially since the GM is willing to spend a little more to go out with a bang.
EDIT: Also, in 06, CF spent $1.24 billion to buy Paramounts Parks. No amount is unheard of these days.
EDIT: Also guys, remeber CF already ruled out a GCI. It has to be an Intamin.

From their Facebook page: "Cedar Point is not building an S&S, a B&M, a Grav. Group, a Mack, or a Gerstlauer."
Just kinda leaves Intamin, if its a coaster or water ride.. I'm good with that..
Honestly Why does everyone feel like they are in charge of the site i'm pretty sure thats Jeff, and Walt's job, and if they see a problem they will point it out. Not everyone has to take charge of the site like some people feel they do.

Ohhh, so there was a glaring hole in the coaster lineup when Dragster and Maverick were built. Clearly 15 coasters, two of them being back to back Intamins was a hole so large they had to fill it with two more! I see.
There was a glaring hole when those were built. Their existingcoasters were still too reliable and they had to fill the gap. No thatthat's been filled, they can proceed.

Thats what i was thinking...but GOD I hope not...leave the dark rides to Disney please...I want adrenaline. However, if they do do a Dark Ride (Sally or otherwise) they better do it WELL or I fear we may have another DT on our hands.
Or the void of not having a log flume...something that any decent amusement park should have.

Agreed JuggaLotus, however that didn't stop them from bulldozing WWL now did it.
I'll go for a new innovative flume ride. Then once everyone's happy with that I can move onto that great idea of a bonfire over at Mean Streak.

They still haven't ruled out an inverted log ride. :)
Not that I see CP putting this in... but Intamin has not been ruled out yet.

Except for that whole part of WWL being a leaky maintenance hog. Remove it and put a brand new one in a few years later. Sounds like a good plan to me.

Josh, I was at the Intamin site this afternoon during lunch and that's exactly what I was thinking as well.
It certainly wouldn't piss me off to see one of those as I was a bit sad at seeing WWL go away and this looks more exciting than your normal flume.
I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead

Haha, that would funny to apply to a whole scenario where an operator (like an animatronic or something) is drunk off of whyte lightning and turns the boat around (via a kind of turn table) on the last drop.

Eltoro looks like a good wooden coaster. What is CGI?
