new onpoint post, if I missed it posted earlier @ 11:50am

2010 is Not...

...a Togo or a GCI.

GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.

No Togo? That blows my guess.

Care to explain, then, the concentration of outdoor waterparks (including one of the world's largest) in Wisconsin?

What is a togo? I will probably smack myself when I hear, but I am having a brain fart.

Ever hear of being nice, It was just a question. Well at least I don't want to smack myself. Why the hell couldn't I ask a question about cedar point in a cedar point forum? Man, how do you go outside your house not being able to handle the people that don't know as much as you?

dj gave you a smiley face. He was playing nice. Don't get your panties in a bunch -- or if you do, make it over something worthwhile.

Now here's my smiley: :)

You've expelled more energy being all hurt and sad than it would've taken to Google TOGO in the first place. And to think I even included a smiley face so as to not offend.

Next time I'll send flowers.

I know screamscape is the < ahem > absolute last word in coaster rumors .. .But it mentions, During a special ERT event at Maverick the other night a few new hints about the 2010 project were mentioned. People were told that it would be a “family friendly attraction” and that the riders wouldn’t get wet.
was anyone here at this ERT to confirm that ?
also isn't maverick considered a family attraction ?

Yeah, the not gettin' wet comment has been mentioned a few times, though (shocker!) no one can confirm it was actually said. It could easily just be something someone made up, or not. Time will tell.

And yeah, according to CP, Maverick is a family attraction, and always has been. I know I'm not alone in hoping 2010 brings a family attraction that is actually attractive to (and ride-able by) families.

Back on topic, I wonder what the entire possible domain of water rides would be that:

(1) aren't Aquatrax,

yet

(2) have wheels and harnesses.

It would seem to me that Cedar Fair isn't going to venture out into untried technology at its flagship park (at least it mostly hasn't in the past, though there are exceptions). This suggests to me that we're going to have a known manufacturer with a previously established product -- perhaps extended or advanced somehow, but still a proven entity.

I fail to see how moving the RR would improve anything, even if PWE wasn't in the way of such a change.

I agree. Moving the tracks would be a pretty expensive project as opposed to just ramp up next to them and over. I really think this is what we will see somewhere along the trail.

Remember, though, that the "harnesses" comment was made back when T&T were spewing random nonsense ("Gee, See Eye", etc.). Its just as likely (given we know its not a GCI) that those things don't exist on next year's attraction.

I am thinking the harness comment was used as a broad term for restraint. When I hear harness I think OTSR but I think Tony used it meaning any kind of restraint including a lap bar.
