Wow. Well, I'm clearly too immature and bitchy for you kids...

Have fun discussing next year's 500' floorless Aquatrax woody!

If I had to guess, I'd say 100% of what I know was learned through common sense. It really can be a valuable tool to use.

I have many friends at Cedar Point and I get to enjoy great conversations with them. Some of those conversations are candid in nature and sometimes they're about relatively minor things that aren't meant to be shared. That said, the details of large capital improvements aren't discussed. They all like their jobs too much to talk to someone, however cool I might be, without an NDA. I promise you, the powers that be take that stuff very seriously.

There's a difference between a guess based on known information and a guess that's really "I want XYZ, so that's what I think it might be, does anyone else think that's what it might be?" The wishlist stuff gets kind of old, but the increased traffic is appreciated. :)

Have fun in the retirement home, oldster!

Wow, that djDaeman guy has some issues.

Anyway, didn't someone say they were getting a topple tower? lmao

djDaemon's avatar

Yeah, I have issues. Like the desire for actual discussion...

Brandon

Am I the only one who agrees with DJ and do have the desire for discussion and not stupid wishlist things that will not happen this year? I still insist it is a flume, and that isn't me wishing. If I was wishing, I would want a nice sized intamin with an exciting layout. However unfortunate it may be I still firmly believe it will be a flume.

I'd love an airtime-heavy B&M, but I know that's way down the list, since they don't really need one.

While we're at it, I'd love a new car, a bigger house and a fatter paycheck. :)

Brandon

Maybe you should find some friends that are as intelligent as you. You are way above my level. I could only dream of having your smarts and ability to create interesting discussion.
If I go study the great works of Aristotle, Socrates, Einstein, Epictetus, Plato, etc, can I talk to you?

I KNEW IT WAS TRUE!

Getting back to the actual discussion though, very few people TRULY know what the new ride is gonna be (although some people are very good at noticing things and using common sense ), so its hard to deny a certain sort of roller coaster type, after all, Cedar Point has been messing with our minds ever since the "Gee, See, Eye!" clue, so do we really know 100% that the Beemer clue is actually ruling out B&Ms? I don't know, as well as most of America. As for the serious discussion prediction for Cedar Point's new ride, its either A.) A log flume B.) Some sort of Intamin coaster or C.) An uber-GCI coaster. Those are the only "serious discussion" predictions I can come up with. Those can also be identified as a "wishlist thing I really want", but not referred to as so due to the fact that those seem like very realistic possibilities, and those are what some say Cedar Point is lacking. In my honest opinion, all Cedar Point's lacking is lower food prices. :)

P.S That topple ride looks...........slightly lacking in the excitement department.

There is no actual proof of anything new for 2010. Thus, everything on this thread is a "wish list". there are hints and observations, but no proof. for all we know, it could be an underwater/ under land coaster merging the bay and the lake. That way the bay gulls and lake gulls could meet in the middle!!

Why does everyone insist on throwing out unnecessary low blows?

There is no such thing as common sense. What one person things makes common sense would be completely bass ackwards and nonsensical to someone else.

Whoaaaa, maaan! You just blew my miiiiind!!!

Brandon

Thanks ffej :) Maybe he is still bitter that the Red Wings blew it to the Penguins!

I do agree that the aquatrax, 500ft, and wooden invert jokes are annoying. And anyone who thinks they are getting a topple tower should be in a mental institution.

I was looking at the island in bird's eye view on bing. I think the Terror Island stuff is actually set up on on the other end of the island. I think Terror Island could take place without interfering with construction or the future ride. Does anyone know for sure?

I truly believe that CP will be getting a new water ride this year, and something big for the 2011 season. Sorta like the year they got Wicked Twister, followed by TTD.

...just because i haven't read 20 pages back doesn't make me "not apart" of the discussion...

Actually, it does.

and how is that? I read most of the discussion. i replied to the discussion. how does that make me "not apart" of the discussion? explain please.

I will take a shot. How bout the fact that this discussion is over 100 pages and you just said you haven't read but 20 pages back?

Okay where to begin this is a Cedar Point discussion Amusement parks = fun not amusement park = Attack each other So can we all grow up, and stop acting like five year olds fighting over a new toy?

Getting serious, because last time we weren't our posts were deleted, I do second that opinion. Let me see if I can decipher what he said.

Amusement parks are fun because there are fun rides and stuff.

Because amusement parks are fun, and "attacking" each other is not fun for most other people, this is turning into a non-amusement park discussion. Therefore, this is not a Cedar Point discussion, even though this is a Cedar Point forum. Does that make it easier to understand? :)

djDaemon; you don't know what the new ride is either, so stop acting like you do. There has been nothing in this post that reveals exactly what the new ride is. Even the things that "we supposedly know", I'm not convinced they are true. One person says it's a coaster, the next says it's definitely not. One says we are lacking a dark ride and that is the missing link, the next says they know for sure it's not a dark ride. One says it's a flat ride, but there's no reason to rip out that many trees on an island. Yes, I get it, the consensus seems to think it's a water ride, but this is all speculation. What proof is there that it's an Aquatrax? Some people are convinced it is a flat-out traditional flume...really? In 2010, Cedar Point is going to build a traditional flume after they have torn down a number of them at other Cedar Fair parks (huh)? Not to mention the last time a traditional flume was built, without significant theming, was probably 20 years ago. So, that leaves a coaster/water ride combo, but Jeff hinted it does not have rails (or something like that...I can't find his post).

My point...who knows? This could turn out to be a B&M floorless for all we know and we were all suckered. Those who truly know are not going to reveal ANYTHING, so they are just going to play with us.
