Well, the entire distinction rests on whether it's an acronym or initialism. An example of an acronym is FEMA, which is pronounced like a word. An example of an initialism is rpm, in which each letter is sounded out.
If LIM is an initialism, which I would assume it to be, it is pronounced "el i em.' in that case, common sense and the AP Style Book both dictate that any object that is read as beginning with a vowel is preceded by "an." This leads to situations in which you might use "a" to describe an object beginning with a vowel, and "an" to describe an object beginning with a consonant. Think about it, you would never say that you saw an UFO, even though it begins with a vowel.
Of course, if LIM is pronounced as a word, it would receive an "a." I just don't think it's pronounced that way.
Back on topic, the Coaster Critic is saying he thinks there is a good chance for a GCI twister, and one commenter said that footers have been seen running parallel at about a 5' interval, which would suggest wood. I've not seen anything else like that posted anywhere.
Ok people, enough with all this grammar crap...

Wow. That doesn't even make sense, man.
I have been reading posts here for a long time and posting here recently. The one thing that I have noticed most of all is that you are negative all the time. Do you really need to try and degrade people all the time. Please don't take out your personal aggressions on the people at PB. We are here to have friendly conversations without the negativity. Your attitude makes me not want to visit this site anymore.First of all WHY WOULD THEY EVER tear down a great flume ride to build another two years later?? It just doesn't make any sense.
You're right, because they didn't build one two years ago. WWL was closed in the Fall of '05.
Jeff said think about the gap between rides, and im thinking about it....if you want to hear what I think the gap is between rides...its a woodie.
The last time I was there, Cedar Point had two woodies that were, as best I could tell, still operating. Of course, I was there last week, so a lot may have changed since...
We all know CP needs a better woodie to bolster its reputation. Its reputation? What is this, high school? CP does not bend their cap ex to the whims of fanboys who don't even know what coasters the park already has.
I'm probably wrong...Well, at least you got something right. ;)

Where are these footers that no one else can seem to locate?
Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.
It is not a wooden coaster. You can take that to the bank and deposit it. I thought we had cleared that up quite a while ago, and the posts that DJ linked to would have cleared that up once and for all. And yes, those posts linked are credible.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
Walt: you mentioned, "Doesn't this happen at amusement parks all the time? How often have we seen a ride go away to replaced with something similar?"
What I'm talking about compares to Busch Gardens Williamsburg. This is the last year for BIg Bad Wolf. Assuming they tear it down, let's say they then build a new suspended coaster in 2013. What would be the point? They are tearing down a truly great ride, to replace it with something similar? Now, if the suspended they put in is 200 ft tall and provides truly unique elements BBW did not have, well that's a different story. Just like if CP's flume provides dark ride or coaster elements, then that's different. But to put in a standard flume, when they already had a great one, just seems a little odd to me.
I'm not saying they are going to put in a traditional flume, but some of you seem to think that would be a great move. I'm just saying I hope this ride offers something exciting we have not seen at CP...that gets me pumped up over the off-season. A traditional flume is not going to do that for me.
BBW is old and the turns after the big drop by the river seem like that would be very stressful on the trains. Sorry but that was a bad comparison.
^^ Big Bad Wolf is a great ride but the ride is aging. If you look at Iron Dragon(built 3 years later than Big Bad wolf) Looks like it is 15 years old. Big Bad wolfs 99 foot drop is really stresful on the trains. I agree with Walt partly with saying there is a chance that it could be another log flume. Busch Gardens will not go with a suspended because they are not in trend anymore. All BGW needs is a woody by Gravity Group.
GOOD EXAMPLE: Kennywood getting rid of Goldrush! Now there is a ride called Ghostwood Estate.
Pepsi Refresh is saving one coaster at a time: http://pep.si/bTTsfc
Um Um Um Is it true CP will be getting a motion based theater for 2010?

Now that is the first I have ever heard of one of those going to CP. If you look at Kings Island and Carowinds their action theaters don't seem to be doing to good. Plus CP doesn't have the rights to any show that I know of that is currently popular.
What ever happened to GL or should I say Seaworlds Pirate 4d adventure?

^ Wow...I'm kind of surprised that I remembered what that was. :) I think I see where you are going with that though. I believe it was gone by the time Six Flags bought Geauga Lake, and would definitely would not be put away in storage somewhere. Don't quote me on that though.

The film itself is probably in storage somewhere. Maybe not in CF's possesion, but it should be out there. As for the theatre, all of the equipment inside was auctioned off.
Okay, So I honestly don't think the Coaster Wars are over. Cedar Point would not just give up its title of Best Amusement Park In the World.
-If you see a picture of the Millenium Island with the green tracks its photoshopped. If you go on the Space Spiral you can't see it.
-They aren't doint anything special for the 17th Anniversary of Snake River Falls because they are probably tearing it down.
-IF they tear it down they will probably build a track where Snake River Falls use to be and onto Millenium Island, there is enough space for parts of a track.
-On the Whyte Lightening website there is a symbol of an upside down Millenium on that bottle.
-Personally I think they are building an Aquatrax because the U.S does not have one and if Cedar Point where to build one before any other park they would be first on the Coaster Wars. If we built one of those we would have absolutely NO competition for awhile.
Once again, these "coaster wars" enthusiasts speak of don't exist anymore except in the minds of enthusiasts. Parks realized after Dragster and Ka that it was quickly becoming ridiculously stupid and not a good thing. Furthermore, the only mindshare that SFMM and CP "compete" for are enthusiasts, which means squat in the grand scheme of things. They could care less, actually. There is no competition between the Point and Magic Mountain, or any SIX park for that matter.
Now with that said, did anyone happen to notice those two new supports laying around behind one of the train scenes? One looks as thick as some of Diamondback's...

Can anyone else confirm a support behind one of the train scenes? Not that I don't trust you, BlueStreak64.
*Noob Alert*
Whats a train scene, im going Friday i'll report if i see anything.
