Just a thought here, but they mention that "lightning strykes twice".
Maybe that means that they are getting 2 new attractions?.....Just a thought.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Judging by the smell of the boats and the amount of algae in the chutes, I would bet WWL used lake water.

WWl did use lake water. They added chemicals to the water to clean it up a bit.
Thunder canyan uses lake water as well, but they only filter out the big stuff like dead fish, rotton shoes, garbage...ect. Next time you drive around the perimiter road, look at the lake next to thunder canyon and you will see the reserve where they get the water from.
Snake river uses fresh water and chemicals.

I don't know what this new ride is but it doesn't matter. I will welcome it as much as another. Although this is all specualtion on what it can be but I am trying to figure out how a flume ride(if thats what it is) can have a name of Whyte Lightening. Flume rides just aren't that fast. when I think of Lightening I think of something with speed.
"Speed I am speed" Lightening McQueen
0 - rollbacks
If that's even what the name of the ride(s) is going to be. At this point, it's all speculation.
It could just be themed to a moonshine still, or something along those lines.

Is is also possible with this slogan that it actually is talking about having a Whyte Lightning ride in 2 parks, Cedar Point and Carowinds, therefore having it "strike twice". Just a thought.............
T - I know what you mean. One of my favorite parts of WWL was its milky white water. I've always enjoyed the liquor theme on Magnum as well.

I just can't see Cedar Point promoting a log flume next year...this is baffling me. "Check out our new ride for 2010, similar to the ride we ripped out 3 years ago."
As opposed to "Check out my new car--it's got 4 wheels and an internal combustion engine, just like my old car"
Things wear out. Technology improves. I think an LIM powered flume, similar to (but different than) "Wildebeast" at HW would be a great addition to CP.
(Yeah, yeah, I know HW is calling Wildebeast a coaster, but it looks like a flume to me. But that's not the point--an LIM powered flume is)

I hate to be a nitpicker. But, I hate improper use of an. It's "a LIM" not "an LIM."

That depends; are you saying a LIM coaster similar to how one would say the (possible) homophone limb, or are you saying it like an L-I-M coaster. I guess it really depends on how you are saying it.
Question: When you think of gap between rides...you all think of a flume???
What year was meanstreak built????
^1991....also when i think of a gap i think family flume. Not a big splash flume like SRF.

Your right. That pronunciation didn't occur to me. I've always pronounced it limb.

Or a dark ride. Wooden coaster is on the list, but its at least #3, if not 4 or 5.

^^ You guys its not about how it sounds, it never is, with grammar it could sound entirely wrong but still be grammatically correct. With an the rule is if it starts with a vowel or a silent h you use an (e.g. An Apple, An orange, an honest man). On the other hand if it doesn't start with a vowel or have a silent h you use a (e.g. A dog, A cat, A Brief History of Time).

Which is why it is "a LIM" or "an L-I-M". If you spell it out, the "L" is "el", thus starting with a vowel, thus using "an". So it is all about how its pronounced.

Maybe the new ride is a racing B&M! Just a crazy thought...
