More Downtime

100,000 rides at this point in the season sounds way low to me. Magnum and Raptor give that many rides in a bad single week (over 130,000 in a good week). I know Dragster can't approach Magnum's numbers, but 100,000 is wrong. It probably gave 12,000 rides on Coastermania day because 1200 launches in a day is not possible even if the ride ran for three of four extra hours for ERT. 12,000 riders would take 667 launches if every seat was filled. 12,000 riders is still probably among the top couple days ever for Dragster, if not the best though. I bet they will break 1 million riders this year on Dragster, but that isn't close to what they had hoped for the ride.

Talked to someone, and they still have yet to give 12,000 riders in a day. They came really close on Coastermania, but didn't break the 12k mark.

So yeah, what Matt said.

They have hit 10,000 and I think 11,000 and those were not on coastermania. The only problem is the downtime. No downtime, more riders. It is pretty tough.

It was done Monday night. Cedar Point's website on Tuesday morning still said that Dragster would be done - that's why I posted this topic.

Hey, tonight all the ride ops are sitting around on the loading dock, and the trains are full. What gives? Is TTD down again?

That sounds like a rollback situation, or a short mechanical delay. No biggy.

Last year the cable broke so many times because they weren't using the manufacture recommended cable.

It reopened last night around 10:30pm, so it was down about two hours.

Oh well, this is something to really sweat too much about considering it's been running more often then Kingda Ka over there in Six Flags Great Adventure. I guess we have to look at it this way, the coaster needs a break, and it chose to break down on Labor Day. It's almost like were referring to if these walls could talk, only we are talking about If our rollercoasters could talk.

It sure was closed today. I walked up to the resort entrance gate and saw the dreaded sign. The trains stayed on the storage tracks all day and there didn't seem to be anyone (staff) anywhere near it. This was until about 5, when I left, so stuff might have happened after that. By the way, is Kingda Ka back up?

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

Yes it is.
But it's still experiencing allot of downtime(obviously). Some have said more than before the accident.
