Millennium Force Breakdowns

Someone said the 11 o clock news said something last night about it, I do not know what channel it was or anything, if anybody hears anything let me know.

It's good to be skeptical about outragous rumors. The only reason I believe the goose story is because I was in the park yesterday when it happened and saw evidence to support the rumor.

If you look at MF on the funcoast cam you can see that it is still in the same spot that it sat last night.

Because there isn't much to show. Cedar Point isn't going to keep goose parts and a blood splattered train around just for a new byte.

Because the story didn't get to the press I suppose. Things happen all of the time that aren't on the news. It's not like Fox 8 news camps out in Cedar Points parking lot waiting for things to happen.

Like Matt said, birds get hit by the rides at Cedar Point all the time. It doesn't mean it is going to show up on the news.

Kind of makes me wonder if it's there (and the evac occurred) for a reason other than a bird. I mean why would they keep the ride closed because it hit a bird? That would mean that all coasters at CP are unsafe because I'm sure they've all hit birds at one point or another. I know Magnum has and MF has before.

I mean I know CP has gone safety crazy this year, but if it's closed because of a bird, that is a little overboard! :) I wouldn't be surprised if there's something else going on. Maybe a mechanical problem or something.

Edit: Looks like Dragster is down too. Maybe they closed all rides that exceed 90 mph for fear of hitting birds! ;)

Looking at Weatherbug for Sandusky (more specifically, the Sandusky Yacht Club) there are sustained winds of between 12 and 15 MPH and gusts up into the mid to high 20's. Could very well be that wind is keeping some of them closed.

If a guest was injured seriously enough, that would keep the ride closed until an investigation into the incident took place. (There was an injury on Villian opening day that kept the ride closed for three hours.)

At this point they may be ready to reopen the ride but now they have to worry about sending a cold empty train. Fear of a rollback could very well be what is keeping the ride closed now.

So what are they going to do? Keep the train up there and wait for a nice hot day to heat everything up?

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

This reminds me of the time Fabio got hit by a goose riding Apollo's Chariot. Maybe this is evidence that this whole thing is just a rumor. If it is true, I hope there wasnt any damage to the front if the train or anything. I can't say if it is true or not, but on the count of the train is still stuck on the hill at this moment, I would have to say it's a lift problem that they are still trying to fix.

Season Pass Holder-2003/2004/2005/2006

On Tuesday when I was their I rode MF in the red train everything was fine until we got to the same spot the train is now. The train slowed down then almost came to a stop and you could even hear the ant-rollback kick in but then it picked up speed again and contiued overn the top.

Big Jon- usually when it does that it's because the train ahead hasn't made it all the way into the unload station. It must clear the brake block before the train can crest the hill. I've been stopped several times for that, it only lasts a few seconds usually.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

oh

Do any of you know if there are any news stories about it yet?

When I was there Tuesday a.m. that was supposed to be one of the rides open to us resort guests and it was stuck at the top of the hill but they got it going and it was being tested with the water dummies and one of the guys from the repair crew.

We were able to ride within 20 minutes of the park actually opening so I assumed everything was fine.

I have been hearing a lot of stories so far today, someone said it was a 70 pound goose, a 27 pound goose,

How would anyone know how much the bird weighs? Do they scrape the guts off the train and weigh them? LOL!

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

So, thats how my wifes pic got circulated all over the internet! I thought the setting looked familiar!

I haven't seen Millennium Force Run yet today... But the train is off the lift hill now!!!

"If it looks good, you'll see it; if it sounds good, you'll hear it, if it's marketed right, you'll buy it; but... if it's real, you'll feel it."

I was there and i can say i saw the girl get off the ride with blood everywhere and they closed the ride down for like 40 mins, no longer than that. There was no train stuck on top of the hill because of the goose because all 3 trains where around. one was in the loading dock, one was in the return station and there was another one behind that with people in it that had to wait 40 mins untill they could get off. i was standing in line right by the return station.

Why was she bleeding so much? Did the goose peck at her? And I wonder how they got the train down, maybe they backed it up down the lift hill.

I'm pretty sure a train can't be moved 'down' the lift hill.
