Mean Streak (ouch)

yeah... woodies are rough. it's the nature of the ride. if you can tolerate the bumps (and maybe a slight concussion), meanstreak is wonderful, i love how it intertwines with itself. my back is really bad, so it usually hurts for a couple days when i ride it, but eh, it's worth it. As far as an intamin woodie, bring it on, please. El Toro was one of the best rides of my life. I almost got back in line after waiting 3 hours (for what should have been an hour wait judging by the line length. MAN i hate six flags).

Tha one at GL is wayyyy worse than Mean Streak! I forgot the name of it! lol It was a brown. That's all I remember.

The Villian... they should change the name to "the worst ride ever created" though.

MS, like many people said, depends on when and where. I had went on it Aug. 19 in the morning and it was not as rough as I rode it later night after it rained again around 1:30 when it felt like an earthquake on a coaster (over-exageration, I know). Also, Villian has to be one of the worst woodie I have ever heard of or felt. I thought Blue Streak was very smooth for how old it is. I also forgot how loud and annoying the squeek on Blue Streak was comming out of the station after it rains. *** Edited 11/17/2006 12:32:52 PM UTC by ltparkmaster***

Don't write off Villain just yet. CF has more rehab work to do this off-season, so who knows what the ride will be like next year. As for MS, my experience was that it was smoother and much more enjoyable this summer than in quite a few years.

I am a personal MS fan. The front seat is spectacular. Go late at night and you can walk right on. But also, did you ever ride Son of Beast at Kings Island before they removed the loop?? I don't think there was ever a ride in my life that compared to the pain I felt after a ride on that devil.

I dont think you even have to know where and how to ride it. I just think its a matter of getting used to it. I used to hate Mean Streak. I never miss riding it when I go to CP now. Mantis was the same way with me. Mantis is one of my favorite coasters in the park. By the way, I think that if Cedar Point ever retracks Mean Streak, they should hire GCI to do it. Can't get much smoother than that.

Ride on, MrScott!

I also think the Mean Streak is painful. I rode it 2 times thinking ok must of had a bad seat. Rode it again the following season different place on the train and it was just as bad... So lets just say I wont be ridding it anytime soon. But the name does give some warning to. Lets just hope they dont come out with a coaster named the bunny hills.. I can see it now. Bad idea!!! But in honesty, all the coaster at CP have something special about them. But the Mean Streak signature happens to be a slight case of back pain.

Hey.. That's all I ever think about when I see LAMP. ;)

They have wooden roller coaster for a reason!

Bring back Boblo!

Although it would eventually do mor harm than good, I wish they would run it without the trims on the first drop. They completely kill any forces that might be there. I was lucky enough the have my first ride on MS trimless two years ago. The drop was absolutely insane, It blasted over all of the hills, giving some very nice floater, and at the higher speed, it seemed to skip over all the bumps in the track. It was the smoothest ride I've ever gotten on MS. Although I'd hate to see it go, I wouldn't mind seeing an Intamin Plug-n-play or a nice GG or GCI woodie going in there. Who knows, maybe they could get GG to put Millenium Flyer trains on a voyage-esque ride. :) lol

if you know anything about wooden coasters there built to be rough and throw you around a little. if you did miss it they had a sign on MS saying it was voted one of the top ten wooden roller coasters of the world. so its obvious that it doesnt suck nor is a waste of space. plus its only about 16 years old and is having no major problems. so from my point of view its here to stay for a long long time...

I say burn it down and put an El Toro-esque ride in there. What a waste of land. Long, boring, no air.. almost as bad as The Villian at GL.

That'd be nice, but Mean Streak is a classic. Actually... I like the Villian.... ;p

Lara Croft - The Ultimate Tomb Raider!

"Wind it up!!"

Flight_of_the_Raptor, that "Voted Top Ten Wood Coaster" sign was the result from Theme Park Magazine. Amusement Today is the official top ten magazine. In Amusement Today, Mean Streak didn't even place in the top 50. So I would say it is definitely not a top ten wooden coaster, but I still think its a good ride though.

I don't know if I'd call them the "official" top ten magazine, but they are definitely the most widely respected.
