They generally shoot b-roll for the ride well in advance of media day, and preferably when the sun is out.

Cedar Point is ridiculously easy to see from a plane approaching Cleveland from the west or north. The lighting from Dragster and the third hill of Millennium Force in particular throw a lot of white, bright light straight up. You can see it when flying over downtown Cleveland on approach to Hopkins.
