maXair Queue

Gomez: They never said it specificly "We will build big rides every two years" But I think Kinzel mentioned that with a "star" park like this, a "major" attraction needs to be added every other year to keep people coming back.

rollerdude: Why don't you think Cedar Point won't go 2 years without a coaster? They will do whatever works for the market at the time. I wouldn't be suprised if CP didn't get another coaster untill 2007.

The space at Cedar Point is getting lower and lower. I can see them building a couple more coasters but what will they do ten years down the road? Maybe one day Cedar Point will buy the city of Sandusky and make the whole city one massive park.

Keep suckin' on that bong BongKong. There is no space problem at CP. Buying Sandusky is...Well, you know...

Mayor, Lighthouse Point

... a wonderful option! ;)

CP might wait for 07 but that is highly unlikely. I'm sure many people will get mad because of the wait.

Most of the flat rides at the point dont have lines that ever reach more then a few people long. The only exception was Power Tower in its first few years.

I worked on Monster and Witches Wheel for two summers and their lines had more then a few people all the time. There were days in July that WW would have a 30-40 minute wait. The same goes for Monster. I don't think it will matter how big the queue is for Maxair because every 3 minutes fifty people will be getting on the ride. I'm sure CP has made more then enough room for there to be a large amount of people in line for maxair. You also have to take into consideration that this isn't a huge record breaking coaster. People will still run to dragster and MF in the mornings and try to get on the coasters first.

Nowhere in his post does he even infer that CP has more well known coasters. So, quit being an ass yourself, Rider!

The point being, no one on here really knows what will be built next or when. There is no schedule of every two years, it's nonsense!

Also CP won't go without a new coaster for mor than three years now.

Millenium 00

So how can you say they won't go more than 3 years? (and I know WE was 99, but its a kiddie coaster)

Goodbye MrScott

John

I thought Woodstock Express was built in 2001... but, whatever, I don't want to be caught up in this...

Nope, Woodstock Express was 1999, it says so on my set of shot glasses.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

Woodstock Express was built in 1999 with the addition of Camp Snoopy. (Vince beat me to it :))

Why the heck did a topic about maXair's queue turn into, "What year will CP's next coaster open?"? This is when it becomes a guessing game other than a topic about Cedar Point. I don't like to get involved in talk about a new ride until we actually have hits of one. As of right now a dualing flyer is a very fictional type of ride.

^ Though that would be nice, Gomez. ;)

"Fictional"....

If by that you meen, "never been done before", then there are plenty of CP coasters that were "Fictional".

GIT-R-DONE

Okay.

It's done.

...

All railings are up. All that's left is the sign, really, before the look is completed.

I think maXair will have decent sized lines for a good while. It's going to be up there with Power Tower and the other "big flat rides", it's not like it's some kiddie ride. While most people go for the coasters, rides like Power Tower, Demon Drop, Chaos, etc. still get there fair share of riders. Power Tower is 7 years old and still has lines longer than some coasters. Just because it isnt a coaster doesnt mean people will forget about it in a year.

Actually I meant made up. Someone just asked theirselves what would be cool. They thought of Dualing Dragons at IOA and put it together with the whole flyier idea. It doesn't sound true.

^That would be cool though.

I wonder if the sign is going to light up like a neon sign? I love the yellow railings. They add lots of color to the midway as well as the colorful ride. The shades could have been a different color though.

Neon Sign would be sweet, as well as neons on the bottom of the Gondula
