Maxair broken down???

ive been on it before. dont worry, you're not missing much. It is way over-rated, and looks a lot cooler than it actually is. Trust me, its not that great.

I like it.

Vince, I'm guessing this was something pretty major, as I know that the maintenance dept. is always getting things done as quickly as possible to get a ride that is down back up. If it was more than just a part like a spring, hose, or some other "minor" part, it may very well be something that they don't keep a stock of, or possibly something that needs re-engineered in addition to being manufactured. If it was a problem that would require a basic rebuild of the motor (which sounds like that may be the case from some descriptions of the hood being off) or something equally drastic, that will obviously take quite a bit longer.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

I know I know I'm just being a ball buster. I like Huss and the rides they made, it's too bad that this happened to a good ride.

I guess you should have used a ;), Vince. I don't know many people who don't care for maXair. Most like it, others won't ride it.

Welcome to pointbuzz, Zach. By the way, how is Maxair over-rated????

I love that ride.

Maxair is a Great ride,i miss it not being in operation.

maXair is good minus the extremely bulky restraints.

Has it finished an entire season since it opened?

maXair's sensation of pulling you out of your seat makes it the scariest ride in the park to me. No other ride makes me want to hold on more, other than maybe Maverick where holding on is a must.

The fact that the line never goes over 30 minutes on weekdays is great as well. *** Edited 10/19/2007 3:32:46 AM UTC by Gomez***

still closed oct 26-28. Oh well I didn't come to the park JUST for MaXair. Nope! It makes me sick anyway.

Maxair.......poor baby!!

Looking at the Good Time Cam, I think I see a crane extending over MaxAir, hopefully work is getting started to get her going again. The sooner the better, that way there is no doubt that it will be going opening day 2008.

Whether its fixed now or in March, it still won't be open until May.

Goodbye MrScott

^I think we all know that, I'd still rather see them doing it now, rather than later, so that if any delays occur during the work, there is more than ample time to get it going.

has anyone heard anything on the status of maxair. I was on vaca at the park when it broke. Just wondering.

^Basically a major part of the ride broke that is custom made. The ride never reopened for the season, but everything should be fine come 2008.

Do the other giant frisbees out there have all their parts custom made? Or because maxair HAD to be built as the tallest frisbee ride which is like custom made for the whole thing. (What, it's only like 3 lousy feet taller than other frisbees?)

There is only one other Giant Frisbee (KI's Delirium) so basically everything on those rides is custom made.

They just turned the POWER OFF because they were checking about the new 7 rides for the Kiddy Land & Peanuts Playground. Maybe about the Family Coaster too.

I Wondered why they sent me around the park for the last half of the season. Had I known all that was needed was to turn the power back on, Seems like an easy fix right...that had to be the problem. Why dont you work in maintenance since you seem to know the answer ;)
