Ride on, MrScott!
That's an interesting idea. Have companies that have problems with their product merge. All companies, no matter what they make, have problems at some time or another with a product they make. I'm sure if another park wants a Giant Frisbee Huss will take into consideration the problems that maXair and Delirium have/had and come up with a better version of the ride to give to that park. The same goes for Intamin with any future hydraulic launch coasters and etc.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
Sorry John, didn't realize what I was starting there.
maXair's a great ride. It seems like there is always one ride that just doesn't like to operate this time of year.

I think I found the problem. While looking at the maXair page on cp.com I noticed that the paragraph description states you rotate counterclockwise while in the design table it states clockwise. I guess they are trying to get it to go both ways at the same time! ;)

I was just at CP on the 6th and 7th of Oct and found that MAXAIR was down because the motor blew up. I guess it shook the ground all around that area while it was running. They were unsure when it would be back up when i asked but they were anticipating early 08
^Ya, not till next year

Huss is really showing their colors this year... Tomb Raider: The Ride at Kings Island has a broken motor, requiring maintenance to remove almost all of the ride theming in order to work on it, and maXair has a broken motor as well. Maybe they should have thought twice before using Wal-Mart brand motors on their attractions... :P

I was there oct. 14 and rode skyride to see the whole top of the ride torn apart with huge metal chunks sticking out from where the pendulum meets the blue motor area at the top. :)
what really is the difference between MaXair and SkyHawk? i mean, i get it one spins and one doesn't, but i think that it was a waste of time and space to build both. that's just my opinion.
^^ - yes, and both are often confused in name.
The reason I ask, is that Space Spiral provides an EXCELLENT view of the top of maXair, while SkyRide, I don't think, gets high enough to see the top.
Goodbye MrScott
John
What other amusement park has both a screamin swing AND a giant frisbee? Cedar point is unique for that, as most parks just have one or the other.
Skyhawk and maXair look very different and feel very different.
They just both swing.
Jr. Gemini and Millennium Force have more similarities.
Both are blue, slowly lifted up a large hill, both roll with gravity, those who are 48" can ride both, they're roller coasters, and both made by Intamin.

Great Point Gomez. The two rides are totally different in the feeling the rider gets. Skyhawk is a big swing, that goes 60 mph and 125 feet into the air. Where maXair is a pendulum that actually turns you upside downs at parts. The feeling of floating on maXair is second to none in the park.

Funny thing is, they should have "minimal downtime." ;)

John, you can see the top of maXair from Sky Ride at a somewhat decent downward angle, though due to the distance the best vantage point would obviously be from Space Spiral.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
"Owners of HUSS rides sleep sounder in the knowledge that, should service or a spare part be needed, HUSS responds promptly. Service and spare parts can be ordered around the clock and delivered anywhere in the world."
Hmmm.... if that were true I'd be riding maXair next weekend.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
