Funcoast has a interesting new pic of not so shiny track and a video which I can't seem to open. Anyone have any idea why their videos never open for me?

I know this is going a few pages back. But, someone had commented on the blog saying that there were 4 pieces of track arriving at the park. When I was there on thursday. They were removing track. And there was 4 sections of track on the ground in the swan pond. They appeared to be all the same length. And they appeared to be a about 40 feet long.
This explains why there was 4 pieces delivered.
I had the same problem with that video. But that is an interesting observation why would that guy be doing welding on that piece of track?

What, the all-powerful Intamin engineers needed to make modifications to the track when it go on site?
I'm more interested to find out if they paint that section before the ride opens.

He's still trying to figure out how they got the track on site in less than 3 years. That'll keep him busy for a bit. ;)

Well, the question now is, why is the end of that track unpainted? Anyone venture to guess?

Is it possible that they may need to weld that section for some reason? That would save them the trouble of burning the paint. They can weld, then paint that last section.

Are the truss sections of the track a different color like they looked in the picture or was that just lighting?

Ride on, MrScott!
Loopy, the truss sections of the track? In which picture? In the Funcast pic, the end (last boxed section) of the track is completely unpainted.

So, the track is painted (other than the end of one piece) the same color as the rest of the track then?

Is that the section that was cut? Maybe they welded a new end cap onto it?

I got the video to work when I checked out the site with firefox. The video is in quicktime so it must be a media settings issue in IE. Anyway the video doesn't show much else except a few more of those new supports. It appears that much of the work they did today was putting in new supports and not alot of the track.
Anyone think theres a chance it will be up and running by this weekend? Keep in mind, they have every available person working on it.
R.I.P. MrScott... You're greatly missed!!
With as little work that got done today... i doubt it... but you never know. I would think if it was opening this weekend we would know in the next two days.
