Well, as you know thepoint4life23, MF is still my favorite, but it's a very close competition between that and Maverick. Maverick is also a Top 5 coaster now after my 4 rides yesterday (3 in front, 1 in back), and assuming the line isn't too long, I don't think I'd ever tire of riding it!
Good job CP! You've got a real winning on your hands with this one!
P.S. Definitely don't miss out on a night ride in the front if you get a chance!
P.S.S. You've also got to get a Maverick Walk-Down from the last brake run! It's all the rage... the new Dragster Rollback! ;)
Take care and God bless!
The way Maverick dives through all that theming, it almost seems to belong at Busch Gardens or Sea World. Instead of comparing Maverick to Millenium Force, I almost want to compare it to Kumba or Montu -- and in my book, tentatively, it wins that competition. Gotta say 'tentative', because I've only had the one ride on it so far.
In some ways, it seems like Maverick redefines the archetype of what a roller coaster should be. Anybody else know what I mean? It's like . . . it's a coaster's coaster. It's more of a pure, high voltage roller coaster experience than almost any steelie I can think of.
In terms of favorites, I'm beginning to think of Maverick being on the same level as Millenium Force and Phantom's Revenge. I've never gotten up to ride Superman: Ride of Steel, so it would be interesting how that would enter the mix.
I'm rambling. Somebody slap me.

Maverick is a good coaster but it's not near as good as Raptor and it's not as good as MF. I think the fact that the seats and OTSRs are rather uncomfortable (head/neckbanging) breaks the deal for me.
Raptor...front row...first drop...nothing's better.

After my 1 ride Monday and 28 rides today I would have to say Raptor is still my favorite, but Maverick is definitely my 2nd favorite!!
They took all the good things from MF (smoothness, airtime, turns) and created one heck of a great ride!
Although I wasn't a very big MF fan to begin with, we did ride it today after Maverick, and I have to say that besides the 1st hill (which is and always has been totally awesome) the rest of the ride was less than exciting.
Millennium Tony looked real fetching in his Maverick t-shirt and hat...if that says anything!!! ;)

Lifetime Raptor flights: 1170 :)
It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?
Your mom is to fat to ride TTD. said:
I dont know what the big deal is about MF. Yeah it is a great coaster but #1? The only thing on MF is the overbank turns. Thats it.
You obviously do NOT enjoy AMAZING first drops or you would have not posted that. BTW you lose your stomach more on the MF drop than on TTD's.
Eventhough I have not ridden Maverick yet, it's going to take alot to knock MF off my #1 spot.
Honestly, I can never get over looking at the MF drop and 1st over-banked turn through the trees of Frontier Town as I say to myself, "nothing is better than that ride"......................period.
