I don't expect a 2017 announcement yet. I think, like past years, this is only to announce the closure of Mean Streak followed by a late August 2017 announcement. All season, all signs have been pointing to Mean Streak's demise (or at least the end of Mean Streak as we currently know it) yet there are still so many nay say'ers.
can’t be anything really big or the 2017 announcement, they haven’t built it up at all.
Plus Mondays are generally bad days to make big PR announcements, as it will get buried in the news that is catching up from weekend news & general Monday stuff (ie. Stock market, politics, media stuff)
New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus
Lets throw out a bunch of possibilities that could be announced monday
GCI woodie - kings island is getting one
B&M anything - valravn was installed
Waterpark - too early to announce (kings island announced theirs in October)
I think it is something closing. This is almost a month earlier than the Valravn announcement so they would want to give us time to get our last rides in.
SV ruins all other rides.

Many of the said nay say'ers just feel that its a 2018 project. There are not actually that many who are refusing to accept the obvious that something is happening with it.

I can see that, but then I'd argue, why close the ride early and take 1 year and 8 months to revamp it when it usually only takes one off season to build a roller coaster form scratch? Why not just let it ride out all the way to November and then use all of 2017 renovate?
