As usual...I'll be the advocate for onpoint housing.I lived in Golds for two summers and loved it.
Everybody complains about it...but the (Golds)rooms are bigger than commons rooms are,and you have only 2 people in them instead of 3 or 4.With an $99.00 A/C unit from Walmart, those rooms are super bearable.AND you don't get awoken numerous times in a night by fire alarms.
Largest inconviniences with onpoint housing would be: 1) having to lug your groceries through the park, 2) if you have a car,you gotta move it to the lot by commons for parking ban days and ride the bus back to the point...and then go get your car again after the ban is lifted.

Sonyamarie, try to not double post. You can edit your original post to add more information in that way.
A LOT of people love working Millennium. Personally, I enjoyed my B&M's(Raptor and Mantis) a lot more, but that's mostly just my preference. I've never worked Twister, but I've heard it's fun to work. But with any ride, it's your crew that will make your summer, not your ride.

2013: Co-Team Leader of Sky Ride

do you think i have a good chance of getting hired as a ride host? i'm so excited. it was my first choice
If you left your last department in good standing, I think you have a pretty good chance of getting into rides.

Well returning leadership and returning employees haven't been called yet so I can't give you a timetable just yet. I got my call for my first year I believe at some point in Feb. but it just depends. Keep watching the employee lounge on here. As leadership/people get hired to come back, the posts will start coming up..
You can also check the status of your application at https://jobs.cedarfair.com/cedarpoint/ by logging in with the username and password you used to apply. I'm a returner and I believe for all employees (returners and first years) right now it says:
"Your application will be reviewed for the job preferences in which you indicated an interest. Your application will remain active for the duration of the 2012 season."
Around the time calls go out, the page will say something along the lines of:
"your application is under review by the hiring manager"
Be sure to check your email also, because last year my manager emailed me to set up a time and date for the over the phone interview. Right now, we're all just playing the waiting game.
:) Again see my previous statement about last working in Soak City in 2005. Though most of the time Lifeguards are the ones operating the slides, Tops does not have to be a Lifeguard.
Top of Slides (or Tops) does not have to be certified and occasionally they are staffed from outside the lifeguards. Though anyone actually scanning water (and that includes those at the bottom) MUST be a certified Lifeguard.
I have worked at a few waterparks and only 2 parks ever put anyone not certified at top of slides, CP and Coco Key in Cinci. What Coco Key did was once you were hired, you were placed on Tops and/or cleaner and would work there till the next guard class.

Okay i may have made a mistake on my application. I think I put "part time" instead of full time because I thought full time was year round but now i am thinking that full time means your fully available in the summer which I am. will this hurt me getting an interview?
Enjoy the rest of your day at Cedar Point!
