Brakes on or off, the ride just isn't that interesting.

Someone needs to crawl up the ride and cut the lines for the trip brakes and midcource brakes.

The default position of the breakes is closed I believe.

Cutting the lines would just makes things worse.

While the default position for most brakes is closed (Arrow rides do things a bit differently), trim brakes seem like they would have to be different. Think if the power went out just as the train was on top of the lift and started rolling down. The brakes would basically hold the train instead of lightly slowing it, causing the ride to valley.

I have to side with Jeff. Even without the trims the ride is still mediocre at best. It could pull decent laterals on the first turn without the brakes, but after that, there isn't much the ride has to offer... Although the ride is much smoother than the Son of Beast, I find the ride experiences very similar... It's similar to a boring drive on a road in desperate need of paving.

Mean Streak is kind of like a one night stand... It looks good at the time, especially at night, but you regret it immediately, and the pain of the experience goes on long after the experience itself.

A lot of people like the ride just because it is a long ride. I do agree that there's nothing that stands out as being great about the ride. It's just not as bad as some people make it out to be. I just can't see it being taken down.

Nice analogies.

I have to agree with you, I love this ride!

It is a bone-rattler, and there should be a chiropracter located at the exit.

But, it is just such an awesome structure! It amazes me every year when I see it. It is just the coolest looking roller coaster, and I love the noises and the rough ride. I hope they never tear it down.

Not the most thrilling ride, but it has a lot of character.

The coaster they need to get rid of is that stupid Mine Ride. It is so freaking lame.

The Cedar Creek Mine Ride is the 2nd oldest coaster in the park, the oldest steel coaster in the park, and I believe, their first tubular steel coaster. I don't see it going anywhere anytime soon.

Yeah, but it sucks! The Blue Streak is still one of my faves (even though the added the braces, jerks!), old but SO fun. But the Mine Ride is just so lame. Every year I expect to se a new ride in its place. And every year one of my friends insists that we ride it. I hate it! Just because its old, doesn't mean it is worthy of its space. The Corkscrew needs to go to, its almost as much of a bone-rattler as the Mean Streak (which I love!), but also so lame in this day & age.

Every coaster can not (and should not) be "a huge thrill". Mine Ride has it's purpose (and history), as does Iron Dragon. They're great first time coasters for kids and still fun for the parents. You don't expect a 10 year old who has never ridden a coaster to climb on MF and enjoy it, do you?

They need to work up to the big stuff.

Stop being so selfish and just accept that the beginner coaster are just that. For beginners. If you don't want to ride, get the heck out of the line for them.

If one of my friends wants to ride something I go with them, I'm not going to make them ride alone! But that doesn't mean I wont piss and moan about it!

I just think the Mine Ride is lousy, even for a first time, or young rider. It is just not fun at all.

At least the Iron Dragon is smooth and relaxing. It is tame, but I insist on riding it, and my friends think it is boring, but I love it for its unique character.

I'm not being selfish, it is just my OPINION that the Mine Ride stinks. There are plenty of old, historical rides, engineering firsts, and rides for children at CP, that unlike the Mine Ride, are actually FUN.

Also, when I was 10, and at CP for the first time, I rode the Corkscrew first, then the Blue Streak, then the Gemini. They were the biggest coasters CP had at that time. I loved them! Then we wandered down to Frontier Land and rode the Mine Ride. I have just hated the lame ride ever since!

Dont be so offended by my opinions. You seem to have a great fondness for the Mine Ride, and I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings! Keep rockin the Mine Ride, at least there is NEVER a line!

CCMR is just as thrilling as MF after the first hill.

You over rate yourself to think that you have hurt my feelings.

And I do not have a "great fondness" for Mine Ride. If you are a thrill seeker, it sucks. If you are a little kid, it might just be the stepping stone to get you to go the bigger coasters.

Mine Ride serves a purpose. Just leave it alone.

Was there really any fear it would be leaving this year?

Wasn't a fear....it was a HOPE.

What a waste of space.....unless you're part of Ohio/Michigan's chiropractors association.

WOOD SUCKS....NEXT CASE.

Some......try most.

Have you noticed how big and more importantly... EMPTY that line queue is????

Yes, I do over rate myself. But that is a whole other topic.

I promise, I will leave the Mine Ride alone. I always try to. Believe me, I try to.

Actually, the spirals are somewhat enjoyable, seriously.

Also, since my friend and I are the only ones on it most times, the intimate, private atmosphere is quite pleasant.

KIDDING!

Meh. If MS was near the Main Midway it would have a line like Raptors. It's all about location.

I don't know about that. It is way back there, but you can hardly miss it.

Everyone I know hates it, they find it downright painful. I love it, but my friends get a little pissy when I make them ride it with me.

I'll be on it tomorow, but my body can only handle one ride a year on that beast.

I would be so sad if they got rid of it, it just looks so cool. It's an impressive structure.

Mine Ride was very thrilling back in the when I didn't ride anything big.
