Live web cam?

Why can't Cedar Point have a live web cam like Holiday World does?

I think they have the capability but see no need to put one in!

Who says they can't? What would you do, stare at it all day?

Yes, I would stare at it often if not all day.

Message boards aren't exactly a place where individuals check their egos at the door. That's part of the reason Mr. Scott always stood out here; he never forgot to do that.

Not sure about anyone else but I was serious. I would indeed stare at it all day as I do with the current version. I normally have it on in the back of stuff I am doing.

What exactly would be wrong with looking at it? I could go down to the park and twitter you to look at me at the park, kind of like those really cool people that sit behind homeplate with their cell phones. How cool would I be? I could twitter you Jeff , than you can giggle and say " that silly silly ffej man"!!!

Are you trying to pull some moral high ground, Kevin, by talking about ego? Do you see the irony in that?

I guess I can't really be surprised anymore by people indicating they'll watch a camera all day. When I moved into my house, I put a Web cam on my front lawn to watch the grass grow. That image was refreshed thousands of times a day.

Sarcasm aside if it can be. In the summer it is actually rather useful to take a look. You can see how busy it is, weather, etc. The dragster cam was an excellent indicator as you could see the long line.

Regardless, it is a pretty park and I like to look at it while doing other things. In the winter it is also neat and pretty. I watch kittens on a rescue cam too and I am not ashamed of either...

If we are enthusiasts we are enthusiastic about this stuff. I know a lot of people who find it weird I go to the park so much and a lot of people who think it is weird that I chat about it online. Looking at a live cam is also something that can be called weird but isn't this a safe space?

While it is preferable to be at the park or out living a fun life work can get in the way and the cam is a good motivator...

You have a new level of nerd if you sit there and stare at a camera ofthe park. Like really? Do you go to the park and call your friends backhome and tell them to look on the camera as you wave it so they cansave the picture to?

That was my one post for this season for now...see you guys in the fall.

11 years.

I'm a nerd and proud of it. I would look at the camera at times and wish I could be there. I didn't know it was a crime to be interested in something.

First of all, I take great pride in knowing that I am one of the best at leaving my ego at the door . . .

Secondly, what's wrong with wanting a live cam? I wouldn't stare at it all day, but it would be fun to check once in a while, or even just to have on passively in the background while doing other things.

Okay, who am I kidding. I would buy a 60" flat screen TV and feed the web cam signal directly to the TV. It would almost be like being at CP, except with better food.

Then, of course, I wouldn't be satisfied with only having CP to stare at. I would want other parks to vicariously enjoy. Holiday World . . . Disney . . . Knoebels . . . every day would literally be a day at the park.

Finally, all this would lead to the development of Trek-like holodecks, where we, the true believers, could waste away in virtual bliss, whilst leaving our ordinary lives to rot.

Speaking of web cams, where did the dragster cam go?

I too would love to see a live web cam. It would be kind of cool to watch when the park is open.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Are you trying to pull some moral high ground Ensign? ;)

It would be an interesting feature to have on the website. Would I stare at it? Not for any length of time. Would I play in Ensign's holodeck? All damn day.

On a side note, I'm off to Meijer in a couple hours, so I'll triple check the 25.99 tickets I've mentioned.

Can someone help me off my high-horse?

Goodbye MrScott

John

I would like to remind everyone that webcam watching becomes a kind of religion around here when a new ride is being built. the thing is is that the cams are still there when the park is going about it's everyday business so why not look at them.

I will be the first to admit that I do check the webcam every now and then, but not all the time. Is it wrong for people to want to check it all the time? No it is not, because people are allowed to do what they please. But, should CP install a live webcam so that we the enthusists can watch it all day long? I personally do not think it would be worth it. But I have been proven wrong many times before.

R.I.P. Mr. Scott
