You've got that right! I remember walking around the Millennium Force construction site, and it was like walking on the beach.

I'm working on a resort construction project literally ON the beach, so i definitely know what pouring footings in sand is like. :)
Well, having just returned from my first trip of the season, I have to admit I am miffed at this point. The site is not as large as I would have thought (hoped), though removing AC and Waveswinger certainly open up the possibilities.
I am now thinking a mega looper with hopefully those new seats/trains.
The size of the site is very large for your standard coaster. MF, TTD, and Magnum aren't your normal sized rides.

Gomez, I totally agree. The size of the site is significant (no doubt). I think TTD could fit in there and maybe MF if it were a twister? Don't know, but I do think the site looks bigger in the pictures than it truly is.
Well the next time that any of you ride Mean Streak take a look behind you and look at the contruction site, you can tell what the ride type is going to be if you look into it closely from an aerial point of view. *** Edited 5/22/2006 9:13:52 PM UTC by CoasterMan23***
Ok I believe that it is going to be a dueling launcher just looking at it form the top of Mean Streak. I looked frrm up there and there is a straight line of huge box like footers then the footers get smaller and then they both curve outward into circles and 1 set going into the pond. That is what I think is going in at the WWl site as well as resraunts and such. But I am not sure if that is what going in but I am very confident thats what it is. *** Edited 5/22/2006 9:27:42 PM UTC by CoasterMan23***
Maybe a new generation launch....like with LIM's only it'll be like something Intamin has never done before........just a guess.

Could it be that the 2 lines of footers are because one is for track leaving the station and the other one is for the returning track, not unlike Dragster?

If it's a launch than you would need lg footers for that, than you also need lg footers for the forces that are generated by the braking of the train.

I know it's just a guess, but what could a "new generation" launcher be like. I could understand a new type of launch such as the compressed air/ LIM/ and finally hydraulics were, but how do you make a prototype with LIM's?
As for the duel launcher idea, coasterman23; it seems feasable, but not probable.
Personally, I want to see a traditional lift. I don't know if there's a better feeling than having enough time to take in the views from a couple hundred feet in the air.
Ahhhh... I see.
You know what would be pretty fun would be a launched flyer. It could have a Jet/Aircraft carrier theme to it; Although I don't really know how B&M's restraints for a flyer work... that could put a little too much stress on the family jewels.
Sorry to get a little off topic, but I thought I had a good idea; To avoid any bashing, the rambling above was totally and entirely un-Cedar Point/ Project 2007 related and this material may not be retransmitted, rebroadcasted, or in any way reproduced without the express written consent of Major League Baseball. ;)
The jet fighter / aircraft carrier theme is perfect for Frontiertown! It will fit right in.
The dueling launcher idea seems perfectly reasonable to me - I don't know why it would be more unlikely than any other concept.

The jet fighter theme would fit in Frontier Town as would the prototype Intamin seating. I don't see dual anything! Yes, I saw those straight lines of footers, and that is the only place (so far) within the site footers are aligned like that. The water footers clearly are for one track.
I remember the "dueling launcher" idea spreading like wildfire when they started work on Wicked Twister, too.
Guess some people might just be getting disappointed again.
I won't be, but that's ok. :) *** Edited 5/23/2006 11:28:33 AM UTC by Grovite18***
Yeah, I don't see anything to indicate a dueling anything. Until someone can show some evidencing indicating otherwise, I'd say its a safe bet we're not going to see dueling coasters.
