well mantis does it so I would assume that raptor does it too I could be wrong but that is what I assume.
I'd have to go with the latter. The "seat" belts on Mantis were an after-market addition so I'd wager a good sum that there is no checking of the belts. Actually, I'd go out on a limb to say I'm positive that there is no computer check of the belts. Do Magnum, Gemini, Blue Streak, Mean Streak, Woodstock, Millennium Force, or CCMR's computers check for belts? I'd have to say those are all, also, a negatory, Ghostrider.

On any other ride, if it stops on the hill for an unfastened belt, it is because an op noticed as it was leaving the station, or they saw it on one of the cameras on the lift.

"If you're standing in an uncomfortable position, that means you are in the right position because you are riding Mantis!" - Mantis ride op doing spiels on closing day.
For reasons that you can ask the PT '97 crew about :) the ride was later equipped not only with a switched busbar, but I think that array of contacts is supposed to individually check for minimum position of all twelve bars. I'm reasonably certain that there are no switches on the belts, but that the ride is checking bar position, probably bar position based on the maximum extension of the safety belt.

on Mantis, the ride op in controls watches as the train leaves the station. If he/she catches a belt undone, they stop the train on the lift and a ride op walks up and tells the guest to buckle the belt.
Im positive that this is how they do it Doug!

If you get the job for you no what. Do you have plans up there around 430ft. or are you really going to just do your job. Like take pics up there for us neighbors or write something up on the worlds tallest like Millennium Matt.

To: The guy that thought of the cage idea, around the seats. I don't like your idea, because really it is the same as the shoulder restraints. You won't have the enjoyment of reaching out to people as you fly by. You are still restricted to your movement inside of it all. Even though it maybe like a screen around you it will still obstuct your view, which will dull the excitement.
