TTD120mph, you said it very well.
I think TTD's massive yellow tower looks great on the CP skyline.

I also think things will get better next year. TTD had a great year this year, except for the last two months, so if they work out those problems TTD could have an exceptional run in '06.
Thrills Around the Corner!
You know there is a study out there that says that our brain only really reads the first and last letter of the word. Here look.
The cat wlaked troguh the grdaen of the onewrs lwan and tehn he got ralely mad at it.
Notice the first and last letters are there but the rest is mixed up.
It isn't that hard to read. Just something odd I found out.
Yeah the sentence I made was pretty bad but it was the bset I culod do. :)

The hydraulics is part of the coaster.
Yes they are, but they are what make the coaster GO. In reality, the coaster and the hydraulics are 2 different parts. The coaster relys on the hydraulics in order to move and the hydraulics move the coaster. The coaster does nothing for the hydraulics, so it could be seen as 2 seperate parts.

You know, that Stanford study is crazy. I never fail to think "How did I just read that" everytime that I do.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
Yaeh it's petrty cool.
On topic now, if it wasn't for TTD I never would of known about Cedar Point. Now they have my money every year.
I don't think DT ever did that to anyone.

Kinzel's "BEST DECISION EVER"- 25 cent cotton candy. The more I learn about this guy, the more I love him. Who else would talk about a $.25 cotton candy plan to sweep Cedar Fairs on NPR, then bluntly say that your tallest and fastest roller coaster might have been a mistake. The Motley Fool didn't even ask for Kinzel's worst decision, he asked for his best. I think this was something Dick had to get off of his chest.
Kinzel after the show, "Ahh, that feels better."

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.
Yeah good point, but the Montly Fool pretty much brought the topic about when they asked Dick about the whole DT thing.

sean s eagle - I hate to break it to you, but I'm pretty sure that was Hildebrandt's idea. Do you really think Kinzel comes up with everything?

2008: Hard Rock Park - Maximum RPM! Opening Supervisor
2008/2009: Universal Orlando - Men in Black: Alien Attack Team Leader, Guest Services Coordinator
Actually, Mr. Kinzel did say in the NPR Motley interview that it was his idea, and that it will be offered at all the Cedar Fair Parks.
"One of the things I told all of our General Managers is that I want to introduce, at all of our Cedar Fair Parks, is 25 cent cotton candy."

Yes I totally agree with you TTD 120. Top Thrill Dragster this year had it's best season until September 6th? Am I right on that date? Anyway, it was running perfectly all summer long. There were a couple weeks this year where it was down a few days, but not a whole week like 2004. I look for 2006 to be even better! You guys can quote me on that if you like, but I think it will be better in 2006. If they ever do decide to get rid of it, there is plenty of room to build a B&M floorless there.
I've never wanted TTD gone, all I want is for it to be up like other coasters are. Its like nothing else and I don't view it as a big mistake.

TTD provides an INCREDIBLE thrill. It sucks the attraction cost 25 million to build and countless $ for upkeep, and it also sucks it's not the most reliable, but indeed TTD is my favorite thrill ride at the park.
Although it may have been a bad business decision, I feel it's a wonderful addition to the lineup. A must ride each time I'm visiting.

I disagree and know your a fan boy defending your favorite ride. You can divide the coaster up into many parts as you want, but if the mechanical pieces don't work, the ride is worthless as a whole. Yeah, I rode the coaster a few times and it gave a good thrill, but it really is a flop. However, I'll give the park the 2006 season to change my opinion.

I can see why TTD would be among Kinzel's worst decisions ever...and I don't think it's the same as saying it's the worst ride ever installed.
TTD's construction and all the $$ spent on maintenance have probably hurt the park, especially in a year when attendance were down.
When the ride works, I think it's a great thrill ride. You get a good rush and it's a fun ride.
But if I was a CEO dealing with a lemon that kept conking out, I'd be pretty angry.
Maybe he wishes that he would have waited until after a couple others were built, so that the tech would have been better, and CP could still hold the record.
Brandon
See now that would of been an acceptable answer. But Dragster kind of sparked the hydraulic coaster craze. Xcelerator in 02, Dragster in 03, Storm Runner in 04, Kingda Ka, Kanonen, Rita, and Superman ESCAPE(still being constructed) this year, and Speed Monster, and Stealth for next year.

I am the first to say that I LOVE riding Dragster...
...it did work quite well this year, but if things continue to be "up and down" for another season, I would not be surprised to see some action taken.
If it's up 50% of the time, I would be fine with that. :) I am sure the GM would prefer a higher percentage.
And, those links provided by TTD 120MPH show pictures of rides that look like they would be REALLY fun. Not the tallest, not the fastest, but thrilling all the same. I'd be happy with that.
