Just received word from the first rider auction that Windseeker will not open this weekend due to the bad weather.
Just bad weather? Not because the ride doesn't have seats yet? ;)

The Red Cross thing was scheduled for the 13th, which is next weekend. Surprising that they'd call off the auction a week out due to weather.
Unless they meant that the previous bad weather (or weather in the next couple of days) will be bad enough to prevent them from opening the ride with the park.
EDIT: Nevermind - CP's is delayed.

Oh well. It'll still be awesome to finally see it from inside the park.

Exactly right. I look forward to viewing the new ride area just as much as I look forward to riding it. Plus, the new skyline view from the causeway will be quite the treat. :)
I'm wondering if they'll even open the beach gate until windseeker is done. Seems close to the site.

It looks as though the crew has access to the WS from the beach and the "backstage" area near WT, so I see no reason why the beach gate couldn't be open for the start of the season.
Unless the turnstiles were contracted out to Intamin... ;)

I could imagine the media all over that:
"Cedar Point is still opening Saturday, but its new beach gate won't be along for the ride. Engineering problems with the turnstiles -- the bars the park guests fit in between were constructed too close together -- forced the park to delay the entrance's debut by two weeks."
;)
Then in a couple of years:
--At Cedar Point, anorexia is our #1 priority. This year, you must have a 24" waist to go through the turnstiles. If your physical attributes prevent you from doing this, you may not be permitted to enter the park. Thank you and we may or may not see you this summer.
Oh well, I'd rather Cedar Point take their time with this ride that way it will run properly when it does open. Look at the bright side everyone, at least ocean motion will be open. :)
No it's not confirmed, but I have a feeling that it will be ready. Since April 21st when Rebecca posted on the on-point blog, it looked like there was a lot of progress made with ocean motion. :)
I think Ocean Motion will be ready, if not very very close. It only had some concrete to fill, some water to put in & pump around, then just do the testing & make sure that everything went well with the construction...If not, oh well, it'll be soon. I really had to say, I just expected it to just sit there in the grass. This is probably my most anticipated thing to see this season
No wonder they are behind. Its a beautiful day today, yet nobody is working on the ride. ;)
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Is that sand, dirt, or both around the WindSeeker? Are they gonna cover that up with some green, or what?
Happened to catch KI's windseeker halfway up the tower. Good news!

Oh, they are. They're just standing in the exact same positions that they were early this morning. ;) Must be a union thing.
