Lets not forget the signs:
"A storm is a brewin"
and
"Were headed in a whole new direction"
If Maverick is indeed the name, they could still tinker with it a little bit.

I'm not being mean. I'm just stating facts. BGRooDog was not the first person to mention the idea of a pond. The intent of a person posting on a forum is expressed with puncuation or capitolization. If I wanted to be mean I would have typed in caps or used an exclamation point like you did.
When people want to be sarcastic they use a winking smiley like this ;) Otherwise how are people ever suposed to know when your serious or not.
Since he didn't, I could only conclude BGRooDoG was serious.
And perhaps if he wasn't you could let him respond instead of making assumptions and speaking for him.
Just to let you know, it was a sarcastic post. Just picking my fun out of this project ;)
Im not that dumb, im WAY past that point in this investigation. I was just pointing out the obvious to try to be funny. Guess I failed =/

Cedar Point Lifer, RideOp, Now Park Guest
2008 - Mantis/MF/Skyride
2009 - ATL Raptor
2010 - TL Sweeps
2011 & 2012 - Area 3 Rides Supervisor
I got a question.... where did the name Maverick come from?
Someones hunch? Rumor?
"Water will be involved." MrScott 2006
Someone located a patent request by Cedar Fair for the name Maverick. I'm sure someone else could locate the link to the patent faster than I.
884 Coasters, 35 States, 7 Countries

Did someone just use the word "themed" when describing a CP coaster? Now I am really confused.
Platinum has it's perks. So does living exactly 97.5 miles from King's Island and Cedar Point
Cedar Fair trademarked the name Maverick in like Febuary or March maybe even before that. But since then, most people think that it will be the name of the new coaster!!
aww jason you beat me to that post

Oh by the way, while at the staging area, I tried counting the pieces of track. I think there's about 84 pieces on site. And although I didn't bring my tape measure, I did pace off a piece of track that was sitting next to the fence. Although it's not exactly accurate, I do it quite a bit. I'm in construction. The track pieces are about 30' long.84 pieces x 30' = 2520' of track (so far)
this could be all the track used..... look at these lengths:http://www.rcdb.com/id1646.htm
http://www.rcdb.com/id2787.htm
http://www.rcdb.com/id3245.htm
http://www.rcdb.com/id2498.htm
http://www.rcdb.com/id3430.htm
http://www.rcdb.com/id1412.htm
thats if his calculations are correct...that might be the majority,if not all, the track
So can I go ahead and link MF or Superman's lengths to prove that it might not be all the track? ;)
i was just trying to say, for all the worriers, that you can still get a good ride out of that track length......also those are some of the rides people were speculating p2k7 to be like.
What does anyone think these weird supports are for?:

I just can't figure them out and how they're going to work.... other than the obvious (holding up track) ;)

Here's the Maverick patent:http://tarr.uspto.gov/servlet/tarr?regser=serial&entry=78798189
Sweet thanks.
Did they do this for other rides before they were in construction?
Edit: I'm liking that defination...
# An unbranded range animal, especially a calf that has become SEPERATED from its mother, traditionally considered the property of the first person who brands it.
This kinda links to the "The right path taken is not always the best" (or something like that).
Maybe there will be more than one route in the ride? *** Edited 7/31/2006 2:21:39 AM UTC by DrunkinMonkey***

This could be what the big footers are for
You're judging by the support structure I'm guessing. The thing is that Intamin usually uses the same type of support systems on all their rides. Basically, you can't judge on that, if it's close to the ground and the track twist over and under itself, the supports have to be oddly shape for clearance.

Man the internet and programs like RCT have made for some very creative people. Coasters with more than one route? Are you guys serious? Do you know how expensive and unrealistic that is? I don't really even see Disney making a coaster than has multiple routes.
it is a Intamin Suspended Catapult Coaster with the height of 165'. The name will indeed be Maverick.

Disney already has 2 coasters that go multiple routes, Space Mountain, which has 4 routes or so I think, and then Expedition Everest goes backwards at one point as well. Also, it's not that unrealistic or expensive, more and more coasters anymore are having it, but in the case of Project '07, I highly doubt that it will have multiple routes and most likely that track seen is just for transfer track to have a dual station to somewhat reduce waiting times.
Ride Count at Dorney Park so far this year:
Hydra: 14 Laser: 3 Steel Force: 11 Talon: 18 Thunderhawk: 4
And that's just in 23 hours!
I'm wondering if anyone else noticed this part of the patent info:
International Class: 028
Class Status: Active
Amusement park ride; toys; Christmas tree ornaments; baseballs; toy balls; snow globes; plush toys
Basis: 1(b)
First Use Date: (DATE NOT AVAILABLE)
First Use in Commerce Date: (DATE NOT AVAILABLE)
Seems to me that the new ride will indeed be called Maverick (I may be wrong but it seems a little too obvious)

My friend Al used to drive a 1974 Maverick. It was so rusted out that your shoes would get splashed when it drove through a puddle. ;-)
That's cool man...my dad had a similar sounding Maverick...although he stuck some Cadillac badges on it and called it the Mavillac...I don't know if he fooled anyone, but I would suspect he did...there are some stupid people out there.
Space Mountain has two entirely separate ride tracks. It doesn't "change". Expedition Everest just has a switch track which allows the train to go backwards in one section. It takes the SAME route each time. There is no coaster out there to my knowledge that has multiple layouts and your ride on the same coaster could be different each time you ride it. If there is, that's wicked cool.
Ah, I thought you meant that it changed directions, etc. There probably is a coaster out there that has multiple routes, heck, probably someone's searching for it right now on rcdb :).
