That jack hammer is so far the worst!

You know, $12 isn't a lot of money to pay up for ad free.

Also, these ads are definitely doing the trick. They're getting peoples attention.

The "Shot the paparazzi" (I think that's how it's spelled) is one the most annoying.

Yes, the ADs are doing the trick. I am so irritated by the sounds, I just HAD to click on the link and see more about it. (No, no..not really.) I cannot afford the premium pointbuzz, and instead of paying for the ADs, I will complain about them! :)

.. the thing about the ads that most people take for granted is the fact that they DO help defer the costs of the site.

While I personally don't pay for the ad-free site, I do allow PB to put pop-ups on my Firefox browser.. and I tend to click on at least one a visit to help the site out.

Jeff - Would it be possible to add an address so people like me can send a check or money order....? Seems simpler than taking credit cards...

Actually, I paid for a years membership, and then killed the ads anyway - more often than not I browse the site without actually logging in.

If you want to stop the music/frogs etc, then un-install Flash Macromedia player. It's an annoying piece of software that pretty well self-installs, and then chews up bandwidth loading junk that distracts you from focussing on the main content of the site. Death to the animations!

If you want to get rid of Flash Macromedia, I'll bet it will stop the noise as well. In place of the animated ads, you get simple images. The uninstaller for Flash is available on their website.

Also, I think if you read the TOS you'll find that killing the ads with a popup blocker puts you in a position where Popw Media could take action against you to recover lost revenue....

The only mention of 'Advertisements' in the TOS here is as follows:

"Advertisements...are inappropriate on CP Place and are considered 'spam.'"

Blah, i just block them. I can't stand animated ads, especially ones with sound. Now i'm happy.

Yeah, my Firefox and google toolbar block popups, and the WebWasher software i have removes banners. Site looks great now.

Some are fun lets see.......you got the annoying camera flash that makes you want die. The police sirrons with robber. Um fun one likes slapping the flys.

It's only $12... I may of just joined, but knowing I'll be here a while, I might as well make the most of it.

Wrong. If the ads don't load, we don't get paid. If we don't get paid, there is no site. We're not exactly getting rich off of this proposition, so don't think we're going to just do it for the good of mankind.

I've always wondered how much money do you get off each ad?

Oh well.....i have no choice. I can't put up with those noise-making ads so i have to use the blocker.

Do people really think there gonna win there prize on the ads?

Sadly, I think some people do.
