Yeah, thats what I'm talking about. They kept going on and on with that speaker. "What college is everyone from?" "What train is the loudest?" etc. It really makes it quite entertaining and fun. But can it last all year? Today was their 4th day working, wonder if theyll be as fun in hot July?
I didn't know you were there Gomez, we should have meant up.

See Cedar Point, was it really that difficult to reinstate one of the more personable aspects of the park? ;)
I can't convey how happy this makes me, especially if this type of thing continues. How about having the character signs return next...or is that just being greedy? :)
Keep it up, because I'm sure you will reap the benefits in the guest satisfaction department.
I personally can't wait to make it to the park and hear the live spiels, and I have a feeling I will spend more money in the park as a result of this as well.

does the music play after the ride op spiels in MF?
thank you.....and enjoy your record breaking ride on Millennium Force!
Very encouraging to see the autospiels are gone. Better customer service... for those that listen to them, that is. On the Giant Wheel crew back in the day, we used to [gently] push the envelope in terms of how we could alter the spiel, particularly when it came time to turn the lights on each night.
It often got silly, 'cause whoever was in line would usually applaud when they were told to "look skyward and watch the Giant Wheel's 3,600 light bulbs illuminate the evening sky."
Cheesy, eh?
"Enjoy your record breaking ride on Millenuim Force, and enjoy the rest of your day at America's roller -coast, Cedar point"
NOOOOO!!!!! why does this keep happenning to me?!
I really think the autospeils add to the ride alot. they bring up the tension and nervouseness beforehand"

Is the head back, arms down, hold on thing still on dragster at least? that is the only thing i would complain about on that.
Yeah, they still have that. It's not much of a big deal as the station spiels are. It wouldnt make much sense to get rid of them.

As someone stated before the music on MF and TTD is back. I didn't hear the speil though as it used to be on MF though. But it was nice to hear the familiar sounds of the rides again.

what was the music like on MF birdofprey? How long do they play it when the train comes in the station and do they keep it playing while the ride op spiels? And does it play after the ride op spiels?
Matt

TTD's pre-launch audio has been toned down big time. You can't even here the "Keep Arms Down, Head Back, and Hold On" unless you are on the train. The engine reving isn't all that loud either. The squeeling of the tires can still be heard all around the ride though.

On Millennium today, the music began playing as the train rolled into the station, as it always had. Somewhere around the middle the op in the control booth did the spiel (much shorter than the recording) and the sound cuts out, then comes back when he's done. Hopefully that will be a good compromise for the auto-spiel fans (which I didn't know existed until they took the darn recordings away). TTD plays a very short version of the song sometime during the loading prcess, but I don'r recall exactly when. WT is the same as mentioned above.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you

Oh! Millennium's sounds awesome!!! That is a perfect compromise! Im so glad it plays before and after! Awesome! I cant wait to go! :)
thank you.....and enjoy your record breaking ride on Millennium Force!
I also wrote an e-mail to the park and they said that the music would remain on the rides. that doesn't make it as bad, but I still wish they could keep the speils.

Mixing the station music with a ride op giving instructions sounds good to me. I'm not sure why, but I really didn't care that much for the audio spiels. Oh well, I guess I still will get Ready to Go stuck in my head everytime I go on TTD.

Imagine your favorite tv show. You've been through it all. The ups, the downs, the crazy coincidences and then bang! They tell you what it's all about. Would you be happy? Does it make sense? How come it all ended in a church? - Joker
they must've emploed a LOT of people to reply to emails from the website this year. it seems like most everyone is getting responses. and, not just canned ones. that's cool.
i guess i'll have to write one asking for the auto spiel back for MF and TTD. he he he!!
They should release the autospiels to the public now since they are not using them anymore... someone write and suggest that.
I like the compromise but im gonna miss that awesome ladies voice on MF. Nothing beat the spiel on MF from 2000-2001, idk if anyone remembers that. "Enjoy your record breaking ride on Millennium Force." That ladies voice was out of this world futuristic and awesome!
thank you.....and enjoy your record breaking ride on Millennium Force!
The one I am glad isn't around anymore is the Power Tower autospeil. It made turnstiles hell, and it was quite the loud autospeil.
Call me an ex-ride op who (especially on 16 hour Saturdays) got sick of saying "welcome back Raptor riders, how was your flight?" to hear NOTHING :(
I never understood how someone could possibly ride Raptor and not be excited when they got back to the station!!
Of course that's my baby so I am rather protective :)
People here have stated "because of the personal spiels I will go to CP more" someone even said "because of the spiels I will spend more"
????
I have many great experiences riding other coasters at (non CF) parks. I have NEVER thought more or less of a ride or a park if there were auto spiels or, more likely, total silence before and after my ride!!
I don't have to have a ride op asking me how my ride was for me to be screaming and/or clapping when I get back to the station if I loved the ride. Any proof of that ride Nitro at SFGrtAdv with me!! :)
This is just my personal opinion. The bottom line being the spiels are for SAFETY purposes not really meant for "open mike night" for a future Robin Williams.
The only cool thing about no auto spiels was on WT-to finally hear more of that song was awesome! :)
(what song is that??)
And Matt-shut the **** up! ;)

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?
