Top Thrill Dragster Launches: 13
Kingda Ka launches: 31
Storm Runner Launches:10
Comparing those two rides is like comparing the smell of two piles of dog crap.
They both stink a whole lot! :)

Cedar Point is making a lot of smart changes this year.
You know what else I've noticed? This is the second time that the director of park ops has sent someone a "real" reply rather than a canned response.
I don't know how long he can keep this up---after all, CP fans can complain about just about anything---but it sounds like park ops is now under lead-by-doing leadership.
Glad to hear they brought the music on MF back but kept the live spiel. We get both the personalized spiel and the cool music. Have they installed a wireless mic system or did they still have the op at controls spieling?

Does anyone happen to have a recording of the MF music available for download? Tay Tay has the same idea as I do...I want to hear that music all year long.
Its a commercially available song available for download through ITunes. I don't remember the name of the song, although its probably somewhere in the forums. Do a google search with site:www.pointbuzz.com in front of your search criteria.

I wonder if geauga lake is doing the same thing. I remember they put tons of really annoying/boring autospiels on most of the roller coasters, and they refered to the trains as "ride units". I guese we'll find out on saturday.

I don't think MF's music is an actual song. WT's music is "The Winner" by Crystal Method and Dragsters is "Ready to Go" by Republica. As far as I know though, MF's was something homegrown.
Also, I've heard this is a company wide thing. I guess someone who visits another CF park can tell us if its true. *** Edited 5/10/2006 2:39:18 AM UTC by MDOmnis***

So do they still do the "America's Rockin' rollercoast" like they did aroun 98/99/00 or so?

Guess I may have been thinking of those and thought MF was in the same boat. Either way, I'd be wary of posting links to or offering to trade copyrighted music on these boards. Jeff and Walt (rightfully so) frown upon it.

I cant find the original Millennium Force theme on ITunes or anything. I even searched every forum topic here. Does anyone know the name of the actual song?
THE MUSIC IS BACK! THANK THE LORD! I sent that Bob guy a message the other day, maybe it got through to his head. Looks like no more millennium lady, but ill take something better than nothing. What was the music like? Was it playing the whole time, did it get lower when the ride op was speaking? How did it work?
thank you.....and enjoy your record breaking ride on Millennium Force!

They still still had the control op speaking.
I'd rather have as many people checking restraints as possible to keep the line moving. When Magnum used the wired mic, it always added time when that guy had to announce, reach over 3 ft since he had such a short cord, and check restraints.
As for the music, I think a link was posted a while back (not sure), but thats how I remeber getting it on my pc.

There was a "techno remix" on this site for a while, but that hasn't been up in years.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
TTD's ride op did a good job of getting the crowd hyped up while it was going through some downtime on Monday. I sure hope the music comes back. It just seemed like something was missing.

Heres what I found today about the Audiospiels for this year. Iron Dragon and Corkscrew have the newly recorded spiels with younger kids doing the talking. That is the only two I have heard all year and it may change with attendence and other factors.
MF has the music playing now when the train comes into the station, but there is no talking. The ride op simply tells everyone to sit up and keep your hands in the cars etc.
TTD is now playing "Ready to Go" again in the station. Earlier today they weren't, but the ride op informed me they started around 6 this evening. Once again their are no words in the spiel, just the music. The ride ops on the wireless speaker really adds to the experience as they kept describing the ride, "As you see the train in front of you about to be launched 120 mph in 4 seconds, then go 420 feet in the air and back down again to 120 mph."
Trip Count 2003: 13 2004: 24 2005: 22 2006: 25 2007: 25
The ride op on TTD was really getting into it. The double load adds a little fun. "Blue train are you ready?" "Red train are you ready?", it was a competition for the loudest train. "Top Thrill Dragster goes 120mph or 203 kph for those who use the metric system." Also TTD had some downtime and the op kept talking to the crowd in the station. He asked what state everyone was from and such. I didn't like the idea of no auto spiels, but this really changed my mind.
